The resort is unlike any other hotel you have ever stayed, it’s more like a celebration of 20th century pop culture! Disney’s Pop Century Resort opened December 13th 2013 as a Disney Value Resort. Since then families have been in awe of its bright colors and amazing detail to everything you loved as a child and adult from the 1950’s thru the 1990’s.

Ohana at Disney

August 23, 2012

Disney dining optionAloha, E Komo Mai!  Welcome to  ‘Ohana, my favorite table service restaurant at Walt Disney World.   A family style restaurant which offers an “all you can eat” dining option, ‘Ohana is the perfect location for a family gathering with delicious food and an amusing atmosphere.

‘Ohana is located on the second floor of the gorgeous Polynesian Resort at Walt Disney World.   It is a very convenient monorail ride away from the Magic Kingdom.

For breakfast you are joined by Mickey, Pluto, Lilo and Stitch.  Before you are seated for your meal, you can take a family picture with your leis that are provided upon checking in.  On the way to your table, the waiter will pick up a basket of homemade pastries for you.   The pineapple bread is amazing.  Once you are seated, you will be served scrambled eggs, friend potatoes, sausage, bacon, fruit, juice and the infamous Mickey waffles.  Your children will have an opportunity to hula dance around the room in a kanga line to “Hawaiian Roller Coaster Ride,” the theme song from Lilo and Stitch.  All the characters come by to visit at ‘Ohana, so make sure to have your camera ready.

The Dole Whips Snack at Walt Disney World

June 1, 2012

One of the most beloved snacks at the Walt Disney World Resort has to be Dole Whips.  These iconic snacks have been around as long as most of us can remember.  I remember being a little girl in Disney and eating my very first Dole Whip…..I was hooked and have been enjoying this refreshing treat ever since.

Dole Whips are a non-dairy, soft serve, frozen creation that is enjoyed served in a cup or with Pineapple juice as a float.  They are mainly served at the ever-famous Aloha Isle in Adventureland in the Magic Kingdom.  Others may know that you can find this treat at Disney’s Polynesian Resort right out of a Dole Whip dispenser.  On a hot day, there is nothing more refreshing to cool you off than one of these yummy treats.

The Dole Whip is arguably the most famous food item sold at the Walt Disney World Resort.  Some may have their personal favorites, but none can argue the fame and renowned status that the Dole Whip holds.   If you researched Disney guests’ favorite snack/treat at Walt Disney World, you may find the Mickey Mouse Ice Cream Bar or the famous smoked turkey legs, but I am not sure either of these hold the love and dedication that the Dole Whip does.
