Today the spotlight shines on Jennifer Grimes from North Carolina!

Name: Jennifer Grimes

Where are you from? Charlotte, NC

First memory of Disney? I was 8 on my first trip, and I remember watching the parade while wearing my Mickey ears (with my name stitched on the back of them) while eating a Mickey Mouse ice cream bar.

Disney Virtual Meet & Greet

What makes Disney MAGICAL in your eyes? Everything! From the rides, to the fireworks, to the parades, and to every little experience, the attention to detail and excellence is evident. I especially love how my kids light up when they are there and how they are treated like a prince and princesses. Our family makes magical memories at Disney.

Favorite Disney destination and why? The Magic Kingdom because it’s perfect and magical.

Favorite Disney Character and why? Cinderella is my favorite character because she is nice to her stepmother and stepsisters even when they are not nice to her; she is a true princess. And, because she has her own castle!

Disney travel agent

Favorite Disney Attraction and why? Mickey’s Philharmagic and Fantasmic are my two favorite attractions. They both sum up the magic of Disney in just a few minutes. I can’t go to Disney World without seeing both of these attractions.

Favorite Disney Resort and why? The Wilderness Lodge is my favorite deluxe because of its proximity to Magic Kingdom. I also love the décor and the pool. My favorite moderate is Port Orleans-French Quarter because of the New Orleans feel and the beautiful landscaping. Art of Animation is my favorite value because of the amazing pool and the fun Disney décor.

Favorite Disney Restaurant and why? I love Flying Fish on Disney’s Boardwalk; the food is excellent and sophisticated, and the service is superb. The Tusker House is by far my favorite character meal because of the African flare of the food, and because you can’t beat meeting Donald (#1), Mickey, Minnie, and Goofy while eating your meal!

Disney dining

Favorite Disney Quick Service Restaurant and why? Anything in Epcot’s World Showcase because it is so fun to try international foods.

3 Disney characters you’d like to have dinner with and why? What, pick three? I can only narrow it down to 5. I would choose Flynn Rider (Eugene Fitzherbert), Rapunzel, Tiana, Prince Naveen, and Charlotte. Their stories are the right mix of adventure, romance, intrigue, and humor. Every time I watch those movies I am on the edge my seat, laughing, and feeling sentimental. Plus, they are just really great stories, and the characters would be great to spend an evening with- especially Charlotte and Flynn Rider, they crack me up!

Favorite Disney snack and why? Of course it is a Mickey Mouse ice cream bar!

Disney dining

Favorite Disney Movie and why? I love all of the Disney movie so much, but I think one of my favorites has to be Fun and Fancy Free. It has Mickey, Donald, and Goofy in it, and it Mickey is voiced by Walt Disney himself!

3 Favorite Disney Songs and why? “So This is Love” because Cinderella sings beautifully, “I Had a Dream” from Tangled because it is so well written and funny, and “Pretty Irish Girl” from Darby O’Gill and the Little People, because it is such a sweet song and Sean Connery sings it!

Disney character you’re most similar to and why? I think I would choose Rapunzel because she likes a little adventure, she is determined, and she is loyal.

If you could be one Disney mascot for a day who would it be and why? Mary Poppins because I could be Practically Perfect in Every Way for a day, and I would really like to wear her white and red dress.

Disney princess

If you could work at one of the Disney theme parks, what job would you want and why? I think I would be happy with any job at Disney, but I being a Photopass person would be something I would like to do. I would get to be outside and in the parks, and I would get to capture the guests magical memories.

Best part about being a MickeyTravels Disney Travel Agent? Most definitely the best part is helping my clients create magical memories at the Happiest Place on Earth!

Why should I book my vacation with you? I treat every vacation like it is my own, because I know how magical a Disney trip is. My family has made such wonderful memories at Disney, and I want all my clients to have the same experience. I also will plan every aspect of a Disney vacation, down to the smallest detail.

You get to feel like a kid no matter how old you are and everybody is so friendly and so eager to make your trip memorable!

3 Disney characters you’d like to have dinner with and why? – I would love to dine with the villains because I think it would be very entertaining! Unfortunately there aren’t any dining options that offer that experience but the dinner at 1900 Park Fare is a close second. Favorite Disney snack and why? – One thing I like to get on each visit to Disney is the Dole Whip in Adventure land at Magic Kingdom. Yum!

Favorite Disney Movie and why? – My favorite Disney movie is The Lion King, I just love the classic animation, the music, and the story!

Disney characters

3 Favorite Disney Song and why? – “Boo to You” from Mickey’s Not-so-scary Halloween party because I love that event so much and it’s such a catchy tune! “Do You Want to Build a Snowman?” because it’s such a sweet song from such a great Disney movie, and “It’s a Small World” because I love the message of the song!

Disney character you’re most similar to and why? – I would l have to say that I am most like Stitch because I like to have fun and be silly!

If you could be one Disney mascot for a day who would it be and why? – Stitch of course!

If you could work at one of the Disney theme parks, what job would you want and why? – I would want to be in a parade as a character so that I could see all the magic on everyone’s face and be a part of making it happen!

book a Disney stay

Best part about being a MickeyTravels Disney Travel Agent? – Helping other people experience the best of Disney, especially sharing the magic with those who have never been and hearing their stories when they return and seeing pictures from their trips! It’s great to know you helped someone make such great memories!

Why should I book my vacation with you? – I do my best to make your vacation easy! A trip to Disney World should be fun but it takes a lot of planning. I will take the stress off of you and make the trip so that you can just look forward to it and enjoy it! MickeyTravels Agent Virtual Meet & Greet – Randee Segal

August 14, 2014

MickeyTravels

MickeyTravels is excited about our new initiative – The MickeyTravels Agent Virtual Meet & Greet. We will feature a different MickeyTravels agent on a daily basis. We’re proud to have the best Disney Travel agents in the world as part of our MickeyTravels team and this will allow you to get to know them even better. Today the spotlight shines on Randee Segal from Pennsylvania!

Name: Randee Segal

Where are you from? I live outside of Philadelphia, in Lower Merion, Pennsylvania

First memory of Disney? I was 5 years old and remember staying at the Contemporary Resort. I remember seeing the Monorial go through the building for the first time and standing there truly amazed that a train actually traveled inside my hotel!!!

Disney Monorial

What makes Disney MAGICAL in your eyes?  Overall, I think that Disney helps everyone to unleash their inner child. It brings you back to the part of yourself that DID believe in Magic and allows you to escape to that part of your brain again. All of your outside troubles and worries are left at the door. For children, they already live in that magical world, so for them, Disney creates a realistic extension where everyone around them believes!

Favorite Disney destination and why? Walt Disney World will always be my favorite because that is where I went every year with my mother and father. My Dad has been gone for 21 years, but when I still step on to Main Street USA I can feel him walking right beside me.

Favorite Disney Character and why? Alice in Wonderland – always has been and I guess I loved how she was never afraid to follow her own curious thoughts. She exhibited great confidence in every decision she made. I love a girl is not afraid to take some risks!!!

Disneyland California

Favorite Disney Attraction and why? Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride which can only be found in Disneyland California now. I loved driving those old fashioned cars. I could ride them all day long! I never understood why I was so taken with Mr. Toad and the crew.

Favorite Disney Resort and why? Disney’s Polynesian Resort was the resort we stayed at all through the 70’s, 80’s, 90’s. There is a smell and a feeling when I walk in the Great Ceremonial House that just says “HOME” to me.

Favorite Disney Restaurant and why? Crystal Palace in the Magic Kingdom. This is the first restaurant I took my own children to when I first took them to Disney World. The smiles on their faces and skip in their step is what I remember every time I walk into that restaurant. At Disney, it is never about the food or the attraction….it is all about the Magic of the Memories

Favorite Disney Quick Service Restaurant and why? I love Toy Story Pizza Planet inside Disney’s Hollywood Studios. My kids have always enjoyed it there, and I love sitting in the courtyard and seeing Muppets Vision to my right!

3 Disney characters you’d like to have dinner with and why? I am a Muppets fan so I would say that I would love to have Kermit the Frog because he has an unbelievably large heart and would have heartfelt memories to share. I would definitely want to have Mickey Mouse so I could ask questions about all the changes he has seen through the years! And of course we would need some entertainment and laughs at the table, so bring in the Goofster!!!

Polynesian Resort

Favorite Disney snack and why? Dole Whip – need I explain more?

Favorite Disney Movie and why? Mary Poppins was always my favorite and still is. When Saving Mr. Banks was released I enjoyed seeing the behind the scene story. Mary Poppins represented the idea that we could make our own Magic. It was an amazing movie to watch as a child, and I enjoy watching it with my children now over and over…

3 Favorite Disney Song and why? My 3 favorite songs are definitely “Circle of Life”, “Beauty and the Best”, and “When You Wish Upon A Star”. All three songs evoke a lot of emotion in me. All three give me goosebumps and bring me to happy tears. When a song and its lyrics move you that much, something Magical happens. Hard to describe, but if you have ever experienced it you know exactly what I mean.

Disney character you’re most similar to and why? I am most like Belle. I often enjoy taking myself on a different adventure through a good book, and I always seem to enjoy the characteristics in people that make them different. When I was a teacher, I most enjoyed the kids who were “out of the box” thinkers or the ones who “marched to the beat of their own drummer”. Belle sees that in the Beast. She sees past the exterior.

If you could be one Disney mascot for a day who would it be and why? I think I would want to be either Anna or Elsa right now. Frozen has exceeded all of Disney’s expectations. Millions of children look at those two sisters as the greatest pair on earth right now. I would love to have the honor of looking into their eyes when they would approach me and know that I could help to make that much of a difference and create that much Magic in someone else’s heart.

If you could work at one of the Disney theme parks, what job would you want and why? I have always wanted to be in the parade. I wanted to be someone who found those people in the crowd who needed something extra and wave, or blow a kiss, or do something so they felt special. Disney is all about “immersing” its guests in the experience and I would love to help make that happen!

Disney Travel agents

Best part about being a MickeyTravels Disney Travel Agent? I get to work and learn alongside so many amazing people who share my passion and understand my humor! It is more of a “family” than a co-working environment. Everyone has their strengths and are willing to share them with everyone. Everyone can always learn something new everyday.

Why should I book my vacation with you? I always look for the Magic within your own family or friends. Even though I pay the same amount of attention and dedication to your trip that I would with my own trip, my goal is not to give you MY own experience, but to uncover YOUR story and help to plan YOUR adventure. I enjoy customizing and personalizing each and every Disney vacation that takes me along to plan the Magic.
