We’re proud to have the best Disney Travel agents in the world as part of our MickeyTravels team and this will allow you to get to know them even better. Name: Lisa Ziegler

Where are you from? Ann Arbor, Michigan

First memory of Disney? My very first memory of Disney was watching the Wonderful World of Disney with my family. We all would forget our troubles and let Walt take our imaginations on a journey of happiness and love.

What makes Disney MAGICAL in your eyes? Disney’s magic lies in imagination and endless possibilities. With everything Disney, love wins. With Disney, one can forget all their worries and escape into a world of love with no boundaries! All our differences are pushed aside, for we all dream of a world of peace, love and hope! With Disney, Peace, Love and Hope hold reign over everything else…despite our differences.

Favorite Disney destination and why? Disney World. I became a fan of Disney World very early on in my life. Our family first experienced the Magic of Disney World when I was a child and then again as a teenager. I also was able to work at EPCOT and through attending Disney College seminars and training, I gained a wealth of knowledge about the Company, Parks and Resorts of Disney. I also grew as an individual and discovered gifts and talents that would impact my life forever. As newlyweds, my husband and I ventured together to experience our own Disney magic. Having experienced Disney through the eyes of all ages (I even planned a vacation for my 70 year old grandparents), I have a knowledge of what Disney holds true to its heart…and mine!

Favorite Disney Character and why? My favorite Disney Character is Thumper. “Bambi” was the first Disney movie that I had the pleasure (both with sadness and happiness) of watching! The words of Thumper have stuck with me from that day: “If you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say it all”. Wouldn’t our world be a much better place if we all listened to Thumper? J Disney started shaping my life through the words of Thumper… years ago!

Favorite Disney Attraction and why? This is a very tough one! I love Peter Pan. One of my first memories of going to Disney World is of “flying” at Disney World on the Peter Pan ride. I honestly believed I was flying that if you believe it …you can do it! I have never been to the park without Flying!

Favorite Disney Resort and why? My favorite Disney Resort is the Yacht and Beach Club resort. When I worked at EPCOT, I would drive my double decker bus to the International Gateway to pick up guests that were staying at this resort and they were always so wonderful and happy! I saw many beautiful Disney wedding ceremonies celebrated with Cinderella and Prince Charming! My favorite part of this resort, challenged only by the sensational location and amazing restaurants, is the pool! It has artificial sand that is designed to fall to the bottom of the pool so the water stays clear (when it was first designed, rumor has it, it was created to house fish). The pool is a pirate ship shaped with a water slide and lazy river with whirlpools, and a zero entry beach area! Great for families of all ages!!

Favorite Disney Restaurant and why? It truly depends on my mood…great food, great atmosphere, favorite character, with friends, family or just my husband. You cannot go wrong with a Disney restaurant! Favorite personal memory: San Angel Inn Restaurant in Epcot with my grandparents. They flew all the way to WDW to visit me while I was working at EPCOT. It was hot and we were hungry! We went inside the pyramid and relaxed in the cool air, dark skies with great food and very special conversation! I LOVE ‘Ohana’s for a character meal! I love that this restaurant serves family style! We went there when my youngest child was only 9 months old. It was so nice to not have to get up to get our food, yet the characters came to our table. It wasn’t crowded and the special parade at the restaurant is so cute with the kiddos! After we ate, we rode the boats in the lagoon and experienced a whole side of Disney without going into the parks! I love the Blue Bayou at Disneyland! I LOVE the ride Pirates of the Caribbean…and at this restaurant you are inside the ride dining on Cajun-Creole food! Delicious! I could keep going and going and going!

Favorite Disney Quick Service Restaurant and why? Hands down: Be Our Guest! Eating in the Beast’s Castle with food that is sensational! The knights talk to you, you get to choose which room to sit in, you dine on china…what’s not to love! BEST quick service value!!!

Beast Castle Disney

3 Disney characters you’d like to have dinner with and why? 1. Walt Disney…he counts, right? I would love to see how his creative brain works! 2. Mad Hatter….he’s hilarious and if ever I was in a poor mood, he’d change it! 3. Genie…from Aladdin…I’d like to give Three Wishes a try!

Favorite Disney snack and why? I’d have to have a drink and a snack: 1. A Mickey Mouse Premium Ice Cream Bar washed down with a Disney Dole Whip (always a snack MUST when I visit)!

Favorite Disney Movie and why? Star Wars (but I don’t have to choose which episode, right?). I was hooked when I was in third grade! I was Princess Leia (who knows how many times). I was in awe when I saw Billy D. Williams put his hands in Disney’s Walk of Fame! The ride is sensational at Hollywood Studios! Who doesn’t dream of traveling to a land Far Far Away….and be rescued by Luke and Hans?

3 Favorite Disney Song and why? 1. Not original, but I love it: “Let It Go!”, such great meaning in our world today! 2. “Morning Report” from Lion King! Our family always sings this song in the morning. It is a way to tell our daily plan for the day. 3. “Moses Supposes” from “Singing in the Rain”. One of my favorite movies! I even bought the poster when I first when to Hollywood Studios (along with a R2D2 t-shirt)!

Disney character you’re most similar to and why? At this time in my life, I am most like Mrs. Potts. I am motherly (a mother of three), honest, polite, kind, strict on responsibility and consoling. I do believe that “there may be something there that wasn’t there before” as we experience new and exciting adventures in our lives!

If you could be one Disney mascot for a day who would it be and why? Mickey Mouse….who doesn’t want to be the most loved character of all time!?!

If you could work at one of the Disney theme parks, what job would you want and why? I loved giving tours to the different countries while driving the double decker buses at EPCOT, but they are not there anymore! I would choose to work at the Jungle Cruise as one of the tour guides! I love their jokes!

Best part about being a MickeyTravels Disney Travel Agent? This is easy! I get to make MAGIC happen on a daily basis! MickeyTravels is a company that is composed of a wonderful team of travel agents that truly model Walt Disney’s business model!

Why should I book my vacation with you? Not only have I had the opportunity to visit and work at the most magical place on earth, I have also planned Disney family, couples, friends and family reunion vacations! If requested, I won’t just plan your stay and tickets requests, but I would love to plan your daily trip itinerary complete with meals, rides (a schedule so you don’t have to wait in long lines), parades (times and best places to sit), character meet and greets (at restaurants and park locations) and shows (times and best seats). The MAGICAL part of my service is that it will not cost you a dime! All my services are MAGICALLY FREE! A Disney Vacation filled with PIXIE DUST and life long memories!

We’re proud to have the best Disney Travel agents in the world as part of our MickeyTravels team and this will allow you to get to know them even better. Name: Julie Hauck

Where are you from? Cincinnati, Ohio

First memory of Disney? I was actually too young to remember my first trips but I do remember my brother crying to see Tinkerbell fly while on the monorail. My parents were awesome and we returned to the Magic Kingdom to see her fly!

MickeyTravels Agent Virtual Meet & Greet

What makes Disney MAGICAL in your eyes? I have been going for almost 30 years and so much of it never changes. You can count on the ability to share memories with your kids that you experienced with your parents. In a world of constant change, the stability of Disney is comforting.

Favorite Disney destination and why? It is a very hard decision between specifically visiting Magic Kingdom and Castaway Cay Adult beach (Disney’s private island). They are both magical so I would have to say land & sea vacation to experience both! 😉

Favorite Disney Character and why? It was Tinkerbell for most of my life, but I have to admit I love Elsa! Apparently I have an affinity for the characters with a little more depth and attitude.

Favorite Disney Attraction and why? Oh this one is so hard… but I would have to say Tower of Terror. Probably because I have been on it so many times but still get a little scared watching the movie in the stormy library!

Favorite Disney Resort and why? The Polynesian because of the monorail, the tropical vibe, and Ohana!

Disney travel agent

Favorite Disney Restaurant and why? Ohana for dinner! My whole family loves it! The food is amazing, the atmosphere is relaxing and entertaining, and as the name implies it is very family oriented.

Favorite Disney Quick Service Restaurant and why? Columbia Harbor House because it is just different than the others and has unique options.

3 Disney characters you’d like to have dinner with and why? Elsa and Tinkerbell because they are my favorites and also Anna because she is my son’s favorite.

Favorite Disney snack and why? The Pineapple Dole Whip float. It is so refreshing on a hot day and you can only get them at Disney and in Hawaii at the Dole plantation!

Favorite Disney Movie and why? I could never pick one. Of course Frozen is up there. I also love Beauty and the Beast and The Little Mermaid.

3 Favorite Disney Song and why? Let it Go (everyone’s favorite because it is beautiful and powerful), Gaston (because I love Gaston and he reminds me of my brother with his muscles) and Part of your World (my brother and I used to belt this out on the swingset)

Disney character you’re most similar to and why? Well I used to have long hair so everyone called me Rapunzel but right now probably Cinderella because I clean up a lot after my toddler 🙂

Tower of Terror

If you could be one Disney mascot for a day who would it be and why? Elsa, I love her hair and dress and she is just cool!

If you could work at one of the Disney theme parks, what job would you want and why? Secret, I DID work there! I worked there in college for 6 months in the college program and got to make Dole whips, Turkey legs, funnel cakes, hot dogs, etc. I never would have wanted to work in food but at Disney it was awesome. I had 4 different costumes, made tons of friends, lived just outside Disney property, got to see all the holiday parades and fireworks, got to go in the tunnels under Magic Kingdom everyday and got to learn things you would never know without working there!

Best part about being a MickeyTravels Disney Travel Agent? Planning first trips for kids and my favorite ones are when parents or grandparents have already been and they are anticipating the reactions of their kids and grandkids!

Why should I book my vacation with you? Because I worked there and go all the time! I have been as a kid, tween, teen, single girl, engaged woman, as a newlywed, on a babymoon, and with my young son! I have a ton of experience and can relay what I have learned on all my trips to you. Plus I LOVE Disney and want everyone to have the PERFECT trip! I will work tirelessly to make perfect for you and your family!

MickeyTravels Agent Virtual Meet & Greet – Leanne Phelps

August 26, 2014

MickeyTravels is excited about our new initiative – The MickeyTravels Agent Virtual Meet & Greet. We will feature a different MickeyTravels agent on a daily basis. We’re proud to have the best Disney Travel agents in the world as part of our MickeyTravels team and this will allow you to get to know them even better. Today the spotlight shines on Leanne Phelps from Tulsa, OK!

Name:  Leanne Phelps

Where are you from?  Tulsa, Oklahoma

First memory of Disney?  I grew up loving Disney!  I can’t remember a time when I didn’t love all things Disney!

What makes Disney MAGICAL in your eyes?  I love that Disney movies, characters, parks–everything that Disney does–is geared toward families, not just kids.  I love that my kids and I can enjoy the same things and find magic in them together and the memories we’ve made at the parks!

MickeyTravels Agent Virtual Meet & Greet

Favorite Disney destination and why?  My favorite location is Disney World because I love the castle, the characters, the attractions, and the resorts!  But half of my family loves the cruises the best so our favorite family vacation is a “land and sea” vacation where we do a few days at Disney World followed by a Disney cruise.

Disney World travel agent

Favorite Disney Character and why?  Mickey is my favorite!  He’s classic, timeless, and always the best!

Favorite Disney Attraction and why?  The Kilimanjaro Safari ride at Animal Kingdom is my all time favorite attraction at the parks, followed closely by Toy Story Midway Mania at Hollywood Studios.  Both of these take you way out of the “norm” and give you a special experience.

Favorite Disney Resort and why?  Animal Kingdom Lodge is our family’s favorite resort.  We love watching the animals from our balcony and the overall feel of the resort is cozy and relaxing.

Favorite Disney Restaurant and why?  My favorite place to eat at Disney World is probably ‘Ohana at the Polynesian because the food is great and the atmosphere is so fun!

Favorite Disney Quick Service Restaurant and why?  We always eat at Columbia Harbor House in the Magic Kingdom. We ate there first during a “Keys to the Kingdom” park tour and enjoyed the food, but also the cool, quiet atmosphere of the second floor.  We use it as a great place to unwind and relax in the middle of a Magic Kingdom day.

3 Disney characters you’d like to have dinner with and why? The princesses, of course!  We have dinner with them often at Cinderella’s Royal Table!  We feel like royalty and the princesses are always perfect hostesses!  😉

Hollywood Studios

If you could be one Disney mascot for a day who would it be and why?  I’d love to be anyone in the parade!  The parades are so special and there have been a few times with a look, a wave, or a “connection” of some sort between my kids and a parade participant has made their day!

If you could work at one of the Disney theme parks, what job would you want and why?   I’d love to give tours like the Keys to the Kingdom tour and share Disney history and information with guests that are interested in all things Disney!

Favorite Disney snack and why?  Dole Whip in the Magic Kingdom!  Refreshing and delicious!

Favorite Disney Movie and why?  My favorite was always Beauty and the Beast, but I think now my favorite is Tangled.  I love the witty lines and songs and it’s such a fun movie!

3 Favorite Disney Songs and why?  I love “I’ve Got a Dream” from Tangled (so funny!), Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious (from Mary Poppins–energetic and fun!), and It’s a Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow (for the ride Carousel of Progress at Magic Kingdom, because it brings good memories!)

Disney character you’re most similar to and why?  I would say Belle because I love to read, love my family, and like to look for the good in others!

Polynesian resort

Best part about being a MickeyTravels Disney Travel Agent?  I love talking Disney every day!  It’s so fun to talk with families about their vacations and have a chance to get excited with them!  I especially love to talk with families who have never been to Disney before because the whole time we are planning, I am picturing what it will be like for them when they get there for the first time and really experience the magic!

Why should I book my vacation with you?  I love helping families plan!  I love answering questions about the parks, cruises, and other destinations.  I want to help families get organized and stay on top of each aspect of their trips so they have the best vacation possible!
