The Benefits of Staying on Walt Disney World property

Many people believe that staying off-property in Orlando will save them money.   They may think that it is too expensive to stay right on Walt Disney World property.  I hear people tell me that they would love to stay at one of the Disney-owned resorts, but believe they won’t be able to afford it.  I say – no way!  Staying on Disney property while on vacation at Walt Disney World has so many benefits and adds MAGIC to an already magical vacation.  That said, there are many benefits of staying on Walt Disney World property!

One of the first benefits of staying on Walt Disney World property that cannot be ignored is the ability to purchase the Disney Dining Plan.  This will save you 30% on all meals and snacks versus out-of-pocket spending on every meal and snack you purchase.  I don’t need to remind you how expensive the food can be at Walt Disney World and to be able to save 30% sounds like a good deal to me.  In addition, I want to pay for all of my meals and snacks before I even leave for my Disney vacation so that I am not stunned by the credit card bill I would normally receive after I return home from my vacation.  It is easy to use and I love that Disney created this for its guests.

In addition, Disney’s offers Magical Express as another benefit of staying at one of their on-property resorts.  This is Disney’s complimentary bus transportation to and from the Orlando airport, which saves you from having to rent a car for your visit to WDW.   Not only will they transport their guests to and from the Orlando airport, but they will actually take their guests’ luggage from the airplane and take them to their resort room.  No more baggage claim – woo-hoo!  The bus ride to WDW is a lot of fun too.  You get to watch a fun video that will get you excited about your upcoming vacation.

Who can ignore the benefits of Extra Magic Hours at Walt Disney World.  This is when those guests staying at a Disney resort can enter a theme park 1 hour early or stay 3 hours later after the park closes to the public.  This is when you can take advantage of the smaller lines at the popular attractions and enjoy the parks when they are significantly less crowded.  I always find Extra Magic Hours to be a great time to visit the parks when I can really get on those attractions that get so crowded during the days.

Many say that a little bit of the magic is lost when someone is staying off-property.  When you stay at a Disney resort, the magic is all around you- all day, every day.   When you check into a Disney resort, they say “Welcome Home” and I really feel that way.  There are value, moderate and deluxe resorts, so there is a Disney resort on every budget.  Each resort is themed with pools and you feel Disney all around you.  Disney transportation is available from every Disney resort to all of the theme parks, water parks and Downtown Disney.  You are part of a community with resorts, transportation, dining and entertainment.    You need nothing else but your camera, sunscreen and your imagination.
