Disney’s Wishes Fireworks Cruise

January 29, 2014

Today I’d like to share what I consider to be one of the most incredible and least promoted experiences in the Disney’s Magic Kingdom: The Wishes Fireworks Cruise.

Pontoon Boat

My husband and I travel to Disney frequently, and as such are always on the lookout for new experiences to enhance our trip.  While I was searching through the Disney website, a hidden gem appeared – the Wishes Fireworks Cruise.  As we were in the midst of planning our next trip, which would include my mother, aunt, cousin, his wife and their child, my husband and I decided to book this as a magical treat for the whole party.  The cruise was kept a secret from the rest of our group, and my husband and I had a very difficult time hiding our excitement!

Disney Cruise Line – Don’t miss…Character Greetings!

January 13, 2014

All of Disney Cruise Line’s sailings offer wonderful character meet and greets!  If you are used to greeting characters at Disney World or Disneyland, you’ll be pleasantly surprised on the cruise ships how much shorter the lines are and how much more relaxed the greetings feel.  The characters have a little more time to spend with each family and sometimes you’ll even run into a character in the lobby, on a deck, walking through hallways, etc. and they are usually great about stopping for a short chat unless they are on their way to a Greeting.

Be sure to bring your autograph book or any item you’d like autographed like a t-shirt (not on your body!), a pillowcase, or even a photo mat.  And here’s the tricky thing, try to bring those with you, along with your camera, of course, whenever you are out and about on the ship!  You never know who you will run in to!  Our family ran into Goofy on the stairs one afternoon and he was thrilled to show my kids how he likes to ride down the handrails on the stairs!

You can check your Personal Navigator (daily schedule that you receive each evening for the following day’s activities) and find a list of where certain characters will be and when.  Although they are subject to change, here are some of the characters you can expect to see:

Mickey Mouse
Minnie Mouse
Donald Duck
Daisy Duck
Chip & Dale
Goofy
Pluto
Max
Captain Hook
Peter Pan
Lilo
Stitch
Cinderella
Belle
Snow White
Princess Aurora
Princess Tiana
Ariel
Captain Jack Sparrow
Dopey
Jake the Pirate

You may want to take home a framed picture of your family on formal night with Mickey in his tuxedo or a pic of your kiddos with Jack Sparrow on Castaway Cay so if you forget your camera, cruise photographers are always on hand to snap a pic that you can purchase later on in your cruise.  Pics are pricey, but make a really great souvenir!

There are lots of reasons to choose a Disney cruise, but character lovers have MANY reasons!!

Disney Cruise Line – Don’t miss…The Nighttime shows!

January 10, 2014

Are you thinking about taking your family on a Disney Cruise?  The good news is there is so much to do and experience for kids and adults of all ages!  Every night of every sailing on a Disney cruise will feature evening entertainment.  But make sure you note which nights feature one of Disney’s live Broadway style stage shows!  These are not to be missed!  The shows are spectacular and everyone will appreciate their high quality talent and storylines.  Kids and adults alike will enjoy the fun and funny (and often touching, as well!) shows.
Disney Cruise Ship
On the Disney Dream, you can enjoy Disney’s Believe, Golden Mickey’s, and Villains Tonight (don’t worry—it’s funny, not scary!)

On the Disney Fantasy, you can enjoy Disney’s Believe, Aladdin—A Musical Spectacular, and Disney Wishes.

On the Disney Magic, you’ll find Villains Tonight, Let the Magic Begin, Disney Dreams, Remember the Magic, and Twice Charmed—A Cinderella Story.

On the Disney Wonder, you’ll enjoy Let the Magic Begin, Disney Dreams, Toy Story—A Musical, and The Golden Mickey’s.

These are subject to change and not all shows may be available on every sailing.  Shows on a Disney cruise are generally presented at 6:15 and 8:30 pm each evening and they last almost an hour.

When you are on board the ship, it’s easy to relax at the pool or in the dining room and forget to check the time, but these shows are worth setting your watch or phone alarm for!  You won’t be disappointed!
