Disney’s Yacht & Beach Club Resort
All aboard!!! With summer in full stream, tourists are still heading out to the white sandy beaches. However, at Walt Disney World, some guests get that same beach feeling experience at Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resort.
The architecture of the Disney Yacht & Beach Club is styled to a New England feeling and even has a small touch of Long Beach’s Shoreline Village. The light blue and white colors provide a tranquility feeling and dreams of riding on ocean voyages! When guests walk into their rooms, they can see the influences of a sailor’s life such as hanging portraits of boats, blue and white bed sheets, striped blue/white bathroom walls, and illuminated lamps like from the lighthouses.
For the ”Captains”, there are desks where they can sit and catch up on any sailing news or just read Robert Louis Stevenson’s Treasure Island to let the time pass! The rooms may not have a ship wheel but check your bed and one is there on the headboard! You can just imagine placing your head on the pillow of the bed and ”sailing” away into your dreams as you control that wheel ship! These ship wheels can usually be found in the rooms that contain double beds.
Just outside the Disney Yacht & Beach Club Resort, a large ship is home to a few water slides and a very large pool which serves as a lazy river and lagoon. This whole area is known as the Stormalong Bay which adds to the Disney storytelling theme since there is a wrecked ship! If you’re in for a romantic mood and you want to spend that wonderful evening with that special someone, Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resort is just perfect for that! Couples can spend romantic evenings aboard a yacht sailing under the stars at Crescent Lake. Now that’s an end to a good night! At Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resort, you let your dreams set sail with the steer of a ship wheel!
Trivia: Look for the not-so-hidden ”mickeys” on the boat shower curtain!
