Disney’s Haunted Mansion
Liberty Square- “Welcome, foolish mortals, to the Haunted Mansion. I am your host – your ‘ghost host.” These are the words you will hear as you stand in the dead center of the octagonal portrait gallery and the walls behind slides close. Good luck you mortal fools!
The Haunted Mansion is one of my favorite Disney attractions. While it is mildly scary, there is no gore and the ghostly residents are quiet friendly. This 18th century estate is ornate but as you go through the queuing area the air chills and suddenly you will realize there are no doors or windows to escape, hence you will hear, “…And consider this dismaying observation: this chamber has no windows, and no doors… which offers you this chilling challenge: to find a way out! Of course, there’s always my way…” Let the fun er I meant the scare begin.
The guests ride on the “Doom Buggies” which can seat 2 to 3 passengers. The Haunted Mansion showcases advanced special effects, ghostly audio-animatronics, and age-old tricks. This haunted mansion is full of humor and it seems like the resident ghouls love a good party. One of the scene is a ghostly birthday party is taking place. Some of the friendly ghosts are hanging on a chandelier; a couple of them are enjoying a glass of wine, and dancing to waltz. While riding the “Doom Buggy” you may find three hitchhiking ghosts; would you dare give them a ride?
The Haunted Mansion is full of fun. Guests with young children may take turns enjoying the ride. Guests under the age of 7 must be accompanied by a person aged 14 and up. Enjoy!
