Disney for Adults
So Walt Disney World is just for kids, right? No way! Trust me, Disney is much more than characters and kiddie rides. The Walt Disney World resort has just as much, if not more, to offer adults than kids. In fact, you would be hard pressed to find any other vacation destination that offers as many options and can still accommodate just about any budget and any age group. So whether you’re a young couple, empty nester, a solo traveler, or a group of friends, below are some ideas to help you plan your next vacation to the Walt Disney World resort ~ Disney for adults.
If you’re looking to relax and unwind, then you’ll definitely want to check out The Spa at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort and Spa, The Mandara Spa at the Walt Disney World Dolphin Resort Hotel, the Zahanati Massage & Fitness Center, or one of the many other spas located at select deluxe and moderate resorts on the property, all of which offer a wide range of services. After a massage, you can spend the rest of the afternoon relaxing by one of the beautifully themed pools or beaches at your resort.
If lounging by the pool isn’t your style, then you might want to check out some of the recreation options offered at each of the resorts, including bass fishing excursions, specialty cruises, jogging trails, bike rentals, watercraft rentals, mini-golf, tennis, and carriage rides. And don’t forget about the 5 championship golf courses on the Walt Disney World property, including Osprey Ridge and Oak Trail. You can even get up close with sea life through the Dolphins in Depth or Epcot DiveQuest encounters or take a NASCAR racer around the track a few times at the Richard Petty Driving Experience at the Walt Disney World Speedway. Either way, there are so many great options when considering Disney for adults.
It almost goes without saying that Disney has a variety of entertainment options, but you may not be aware of the full range of entertainment available. Cirque du Soleil presents La Nouba, a show performed exclusively at Downtown Disney. The House of Blues offers nightly entertainment, including special concerts by some of the hottest performers today, and a gospel brunch every Sunday. A variety of dinner shows are also offered, including Disney’s Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show, Mickey’s Backyard Barbeque, and the Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Review. You can also take advantage of the Fantasmic Dinner Package at Disney’s Hollywood Studios which includes dinner at the Brown Derby, Mama Melrose’s or Hollywod & Vine and priority seating to Fantasmic!
Speaking of dinner shows, Walt Disney World offers a spectacular array of dining options, far too many to go into specifics in a single blog post. Throughout the theme parks, resorts, and Downtown Disney, you will find everything from hamburgers to Togarashi-spiced Ahi Tuna. Disney employs chefs from all over the world, all of whom employ their vast knowledge of culinary skill and artistry to create an incredibly diverse selection of dining experiences to cater to every palate.
Now this is just sampling of the many, many options you can choose from when planning your trip. So keep checking back for more in depth information on these experiences and even more ideas regarding Disney for adults.
