Name: Sarah Phillips

Where are you from?  I was born outside of Atlanta, Georgia. After graduating from college, I moved out to Kansas City, Missouri.

First memory of Disney?  My very first memory of Disney is actually one of my very first memories ever. My parents had taken me to EPCOT when I was maybe 5 and I remember sticking my head through the railings of a bridge over one of the little waterways. There was a Friendship boat moving through the water and I just remember being so fascinated by it.

What makes Disney MAGICAL in your eyes? Disney to me is a perfect moment in time when the outside world can’t touch you and where magical moments happen all of the time. Families slow down and are able to spend valuable time enjoying one another.

Favorite Disney destination and why? My big answer is Walt Disney World but more specifically it’s the Magic Kingdom. I love the attractions and the characters with all my heart. But, I think I could spend a whole day just wandering around the park admiring all of the little details the Imagineers thoughtfully put in for all of us to enjoy.

Favorite Disney Character and why?  This one is hard! I have a special place in my heart for both Cinderella and Rapunzel. They both embody a sense of positivity in the face of adversity that I really admire.

Favorite Disney Attraction and why?  Splash Mountain! I could ride it continuously for hours. There is so much thought and detail put into this attraction. It is the perfect balance of Disney’s mastery of storytelling and also giving you a big thrill at the end.

Favorite Disney Resort and why? Animal Kingdom Lodge is incredibly beautiful. The lobby and common areas are full of beautiful pieces of African artwork. Their table service restaurants Jiko and Sanaa have award winning dining. Where else can you wake up and see a giraffe from your bedroom window!

Favorite Disney Restaurant and why?  Every vacation to Walt Disney World means a trip to ‘Ohana at the Polynesian Village Resort. Everyone in the restaurant (even you) are considered “cousins” and treated like family. There is Hawaiian entertainment during the meal and if you time it just right, you can catch the Magic Kingdom fireworks from a table next the window. Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue is a close second!

Favorite Disney Quick Service Restaurant and why?  I love going to Be Our Guest for their quick service meal at lunch. The quality of the food is the best in the park as far as quick service is considered and who wouldn’t want to eat in the Beast’s castle!

3 Disney characters you’d like to have dinner with and why? I always vote for a good comedy act. Chip and Dale are always hilarious. I even think I got a marriage proposal from Dale once. The Tremaine sisters, Anastasia and Drizella, always have me in stitches too!

Favorite Disney snack and why? I’m not sure if this counts, but the “No Way Jose Sundae” at Beaches and Cream is to die for. Hot fudge and peanut buttery goodness…yum!

Favorite Disney Movie and why?  That’s a tough one but I’m going to say Mary Poppins. She is more than practically perfect in my book. The music is amazing and the storyline is so sweet.

3 Favorite Disney Songs and why?  A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes (Cinderella), A Spoonful of Sugar (Mary Poppins), Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah (Song of the South and Splash Mountain). They all are about finding the sunny sides of life even when things seem hard

Disney character you’re most similar to and why? Ms. Incredible…haha. I can really relate to her dealing with the ups and downs of daily family life and still finding the love in it all.

If you could be one Disney character for a day who would it be and why? Mary Poppins for sure! I would love to snap my fingers and my house is clean and sing one song and my kiddos are asleep.  She is full of unexplained magic!

If you could work at one of the Disney theme parks, what job would you want and why? I think I would like to be a VIP Tour Guide. It would be so great to share my knowledge with families about the parks and also be able to take them onto all of the rides with practically no waits! A day full of sprinkling pixie dust on a family seems wonderful.

Where are you from?  Greenville, SC

First memory of Disney?  I was 5 years old when I first visited Disney World with my family.  I remember being so scared to ride Space Mountain and Haunted Mansion, but I ended up loving them both!  I also remember being amazed by the monorail system.

What makes Disney MAGICAL in your eyes?  There are many different ways Disney is magical, but for me the magic is the happiness it brings to my family every time we visit a Disney Destination.  We share in the joy of being together with no cares or worries and just wonder, laughter and pure excitement.

Favorite Disney destination and why? Walt Disney World is my favorite Disney destination.  My family has made so many memories over the years in Disney World, and I love the feeling of nostalgia I have every time we visit.

Favorite Disney Character and why?  My favorite Disney character is Minnie Mouse because she is sweet, stylish and fun.

Favorite Disney Attraction and why?  This is a hard one for me to answer, but I would have to say Soarin in Epcot.  I love the feeling of flying over the world and experiencing the sights and sounds around me.

Favorite Disney Resort and why?  This is an easy one for me to answer.  The Polynesian is my favorite resort in Disney World.  I love the theming, the luscious grounds, the pools, the location, the dining options and just the feeling of home when we stay there.

Favorite Disney Restaurant and why?  My family really enjoys eating at ‘Ohana for dinner.  The food is scrumptious and plentiful, and I love the atmosphere.  The best part of the meal is the bread pudding for dessert!

Favorite Disney Quick Service Restaurant and why?  Be Our Guest is my favorite quick service restaurant.  I love eating in Beast’s Castle and the food  (especially the dessert) is yummy.

3 Disney characters you’d like to have dinner with and why?  I would like to have dinner with Anastasia, Drizella , and Dorrie.  They would be so funny and would keep me entertained.

Favorite Disney snack and why? A warm cinnamon roll with LeFou’s Brew from Gaston’s Tavern is the perfect mid-morning snack while in Magic Kingdom.

Favorite Disney Movie and why?  Pete’s Dragon is my favorite classic Disney movie.  I watched it over and over again as a child.  My favorite current Disney movie is Beauty and the Beast.

3 Favorite Disney Songs and why?  “When Will My Life Begin” from Tangled, “Belle” from Beauty and the Beast, and “Part of your World” from The Little Mermaid are three of my favorite Disney songs from three of my favorite Disney movies.

Disney character you’re most similar to and why?  I think I am most like Anna from Frozen.  I am caring, bubbly and determined, and I am very loyal to my loved ones.

If you could be one Disney character for a day who would it be and why?  I think it would be pretty neat to be Tinkerbell.  Not only does she get to be a part of the Festival of Fantasy Parade, but she also gets to fly over the Magic Kingdom on a zip line.

If you could work at one of the Disney theme parks, what job would you want and why?  I would work as a performer in the Festival of the Lion King in Animal Kingdom.  I just love the music and dancing in that show, and I think it would be fun to be a part of it. It is also nice and cool in the theater, so that’s a plus!

Where are you from?  Marietta, GA

First memory of Disney?  One of my earliest memories was the first time I rode Space Mountain.  I was nervous and as we were taking off, I turned around to my sister and said “If I die, I love you.”  My family still won’t let me live that one down and they remind me every time we go to Disney!

What makes Disney MAGICAL in your eyes? The way it brings families together and creates wonderful memories.  And makes you feel like a kid again!

Favorite Disney destination and why? Disney World.  So many magical memories there

Favorite Disney Character and why?  Anna – I love her vibrant personality and optimism.  She always finds the good in everything and everyone and is extremely loyal to her family and friends.

Favorite Disney Attraction and why?  Enchanted Tales with Belle.  I love how the guests get to participate and help tell the story.  It is also a special memory for me because my family was there for the soft opening and my kids were in love with this attraction!  My daughter likes to do it several times every trip and be a different character each time.

Favorite Disney Resort and why? Polynesian Resort.  I love everything about this resort, the rooms, the atmosphere, the location, the food, the cast members…

Favorite Disney Restaurant and why?  Cinderella’s Royal Table.  There is just something magical about being inside the castle and meeting all the princesses.

Favorite Disney Quick Service Restaurant and why?  Earl of Sandwich as Disney Springs.  They have delicious sandwiches and it is a great value!

3 Disney characters you’d like to have dinner with and why?  Goofy, Anna from Frozen and Tinkerbell

Favorite Disney snack and why?  Mickey Ice Cream Bar – anything tastes better when shaped like Mickey!

Favorite Disney Movie and why?  It is so hard to pick one but I think I will have to go with The Little Mermaid.  This one was a favorite as a child and I love Ariel’s determination and love for adventure and following her dreams.  And the music!!!

3 Favorite Disney Songs and why?  Part of your World (Little Mermaid), I See the Light (Raounzel), Bare Necessities (Jungle book)

Disney character you’re most similar to and why?  Belle – She has a love of adventure and is always willing to do anything to help her family or people in need.  And I love her ability to look past how people appear and see the beauty within people

If you could be one Disney mascot for a day who would it be and why? I would love to be one of the princesses- to wear their beautiful dresses and bring such joy to all the people who come to meet you.

If you could work at one of the Disney theme parks, what job would you want and why?  I would want to be a photographer.  I could share my love of photography AND capture the magic for hundreds of families to treasure!
