Disney Moderate Resorts – A Great Choice

February 23, 2012

After looking over the Value resorts you may decide you want a little more space, a more relaxed atmosphere and a few more amenities.  The Disney Moderate Resorts could be for your family.  With some rooms having space for up to 6 people, beautifully decorated surroundings and table service restaurants this could be the place for your family to enjoy.

The Disney moderate resort category has 5 different hotels to choose from: Disney’s Port Orleans-French Quarter, Disney’s Port Orleans-Riverside, Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, Disney’s Coronado Springs, and The Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness all offer wonderfully affordable locales.  Let’s take a look and see which resort best fits your family.

Plan a Disney World Vacation: A Behind the Scenes Look!

February 22, 2012

So, if you are super Disney fans like we are here at MickeyTravels, you have been to the park. You know all about the Disney Dining Plan AND how to use it.  You have your favorite rides, your favorite place to stay, and your own tried and true ways to catch the Disney magic.  But, what if you could plan a Disney World vacation and see Disney in a new way, like maybe from behind the scenes?

When you plan a Disney World vacation, visitors have their choice of quite a few tours and programs that take you off the beaten path traveled by your average Disney guest and allow you backstage and even underground to add a whole new experience to your next trip.

Disney off the beaten path

KEYS TO THE KINGDOM: is a 5 -hour tour that offers some history on Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom. Guests visit attractions, are permitted to see the legendary “Utilidors” underneath the park to see up close how things work so “magically”.  A lunch is included.  This tour is for guests ages 16 and up.

Keys to the kingdom

DISNEY’S FAMILY MAGIC TOUR: families join a scavenger hunt to save the Magic Kingdom.  Tour runs for 2-hours and is open to guests of any age.

BEHIND THE SEEDS: guests of all ages go behind the scenes for 1 hour at EPCOT to tour the hydroponics greenhouses and fish farm.

WANYAMA SAFARI:  a 3-hour private tour of the savannas at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge followed by dinner at Jiko.  Guests 8 and older.

If you like a slower pace or just some quiet time, why not book an afternoon tea in the Garden View Tea Room at the Grand Floridian Resort & Spa?  From 2-6 PM enjoy this timeless British tradition.  Tomorrowland Terrace Fireworks Dessert Party is a self-service, desserts only buffet with the best view of the Wishes Nighttime Spectacular in the park.  The party begins 1-hour before fireworks and reservations are required.

When you plan a Disney vacation these are just a few of the MANY unique ways to enjoy your next visit a little more.  Hours, prices, and tours are subject to change so contact me to get more details and to help you reserve a little more magic!

Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique…for Boys?

February 21, 2012

The Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique at Disney is a wonderfully magical experience for young girls!  But did you also know boys can enjoy the experience, too?  Young boys can become young knights by signing up for the “Knight Package” offered to boys ages 3-12, though probably best suited for the younger crowd.

Young boys can choose a color to add to their newly spiked hair and even get a Mickey head painted on the back of their heads if they’d like.
