Peter Pan’s Flight

April 17, 2012

“Come on, Everybody! Here we go,” yells Peter Pan. After then the ship flies out of the nursery. Disney’s Fantasyland can make your flight of the imagination come to life. Fly over London in a pirate galleon to far off Never Land.

Neverland FantasyLand Ride at Disney

Peter Pan’s Flight is a suspended ride which allows its passenger to look below and watch over the famous sites of London.  Sites such as big Ben, London Bridge, Saint Paul’s Cathedral, River Thames, and other glittery lights as you fly above the moonlit London.  Past London guest will arrive at Neverland, it here when visitors pass some of its familiar sights which include Indian Village, a glowing volcano, Mermaid Lagoon, and Skull Rock.  In these sites, visitors will come upon Neverland’s well-known dwellers such as Captain Hook, Princess Tiger Lily, Mr. Smee, and Tick-Tock the crocodile.

While enjoying the flight you can hear music from Disney’s Peter Pan, a classic movie from 1953.  This 59 year old classic is well loved by children today.  You can watch Peter Pan courageously exchange blows with Captain Hook aboard the ship to save Wendy and her little brothers.

Downtown Disney

March 23, 2012

If you want to take a break from the theme parks and still want to enjoy Disney then Downtown Disney is the place to be.  There is something for everyone in Downtown Disney from food, shopping, music, and shows.  You may want to treat yourself to the Cirque du Soleil La Nouba at the DisneyQuest Indoor Interactive theme park.

One of my favorite things to do in Downtown Disney is visiting the largest Disney store in the world. You will fall in love with everything in the store.  If you have children who love to build or create things the Lego store is a place to visit.  You will enjoy the giant Lego figures inside as well as outside the store.  I love the Lego dragon coming out of the water.

There are plenty of places to eat whether you want fast and quick, laid back or fine dining Downtown Disney has it all. If you like seafood visit Fullton’s Crab House which offers 50 seafood specialties and of course they also have array of non-seafood fares.  For dessert stop by Ghirardelli Soda Fountain and Chocolate Shop and check out their wonder full ice cream menu, malts, floats, and shakes.  Ghirardelli is known for its exquisite chocolate so go ahead and enjoy some.

Downtown Disney is a special place that has everyone talking because the wonders of Disney does not end in the theme park.

Travel Agent? I prefer “Magic Maker”, “Disney Expert”, or “Fairy Godmother”

This is my journey from a kid loving Disney to living a dream as an “Authorized Disney Vacation Planner”

travel agent Disney

People often ask me when I started planning Disney Vacations and you would assume that the day was the day I started with MickeyTravels. Well if that was the answer, it would be a mere 9 months. Honestly I can’t remember when I started planning vacations. I have been to at least one Disney destination a year since I was about 5. I am a very “type A” perfectionist and you know that manifests even when you are a child. My mom tells me that even as I child I was the tour guide, had Disney countdowns made for each trip, and was reading Disney guidebooks as soon as I could. By the time I was a “tween”, friends knew I was the Disney queen and would often ask me questions before their own trips. In college I had the opportunity to travel to California with a friend and her family and we made it a point to check out Disneyland. I could not be near Anaheim and not go! I started planning trips for friends and had many coworkers ask me for help when planning their trips. I always loved it so I didn’t mind.

While on a Spring Break trip with my best friend in college, we met some college kids that were participating in the Disney College Program. Live and work in Disney World? Sign me up! I researched the program and made sure to attend the next information session at a neighboring college. I listened to the presentation and was hooked. I had to fill out paperwork and talk to a recruiter, if I was lucky I would be offered a phone interview later that week. I still remember nervously clutching my phone outside a lecture hall waiting for my interview. When I was done I knew I nailed it. I loved Disney and had been there countless times. I also worked in a fast paced Pharmacy where you had to learn a lot fast. I knew my multi-tasking and attention to detail would get me in. A few weeks later a big envelope arrived with my acceptance letter! Woo Hoo!
