First memory of Disney?  As a little girl, I bought my beloved stuffed monkey, Erik, to Magic Kingdom. I never let him go. While taking a photo with Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum they took Erik from me and tossed him back and forth over my head. I stood there in shock. My brother, who is 7 years older, shoved his way into Tweedle Dee, caught my Erik and yelled at them for teasing his sister, that was his job!!

What makes Disney MAGICAL in your eyes? Disney is Magical to me because it brings families together and there is nothing more special than that. Families are taking time off from life to experience this magic together.

Favorite Disney destination and why? Disneyland. It was built by Walt.

Favorite Disney Character and why? Tigger. He’s lively, fun, thoughtful and good natured and protective of his family.

Favorite Disney Attraction and why? Casey Jones Circus Train. I love the ride around looking at the miniature buildings of Alice in Wonderland, Jasmines castle, etc.

Favorite Disney Resort and why? The Polynesian. It was the resort we always stayed in as a kid. I love the smells, the vibe, the ambiance. When we go to Disney World that is where we stay.

Favorite Disney Restaurant and why?  The Crystal Palace. TIGGER!!

Favorite Disney Quick Service Restaurant and why?  The Village Haus. I love the salads and overlooking the boats take off on it’s a small world

3 Disney characters you’d like to have dinner with and why? Ariel, Goofy and Elsa. Ariel because of her table manners. Goofy because I love listening to him talk and Elsa because I don’t like hot food, she could cool it off for me

Favorite Disney snack and why? Mickey Shaped Ice Cream on a stick…no explanation needed.

Favorite Disney Movie and why?  I love them all because of the imagination and the stories they tell. The one that made me say “I knew it!!” is Toy Story. I always  told my mom that my toys came to life while I was at school and thats why my room was a mess.

3 Favorite Disney Songs and why?  Just Can’t wait to be king…Lion King, Let It Go…Frozen, Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow…in Carousel of Progress. I can’t get them out of my head.

Disney character you’re most similar to and why? Tinkerbell. I like so sprinkle my pixie dust to make things happen.

If you could be one Disney mascot for a day who would it be and why? Chip or Dale. They are always having so much fun.

If you could work at one of the Disney theme parks, what job would you want and why? Cinderella. I’ve always wanted to be a princess.

Best part about being a MickeyTravels Disney Travel Agent? I get to take all my love of the Disney Magic and help others experience it that feeling, that wonderful, magical feeling of love, imagination, warmth, kindness, adventure and friendship all in one.

MickeyTravels Agent Virtual Meet & Greet with Dana Buckley

January 11, 2017

MickeyTravels is excited to bring back The MickeyTravels Agent Virtual Meet & Greet! We feature a different MickeyTravels agent on a regular basis. We’re proud to have the best Disney Travel agents in the world as part of our MickeyTravels team and this will allow you to get to know them even better. Today the spotlight shines on Dana Buckley from Birmingham, AL

Name: Dana Buckley

Where are you from?  Birmingham, AL

First memory of Disney?  The first time I visited Walt Disney World, I was 4 years old. I don’t remember a lot of details of the trip, but I clearly remember the feeling of magic and wonder! And of course, I was so excited to meet Mickey and Minnie!

What makes Disney MAGICAL in your eyes? As a child, meeting all my favorite characters and experiencing the thrills of the rides and entertainment was truly magical. Nowadays, the characters and attractions still add to the magic, but I really appreciate the customer service and attention to detail at all of the parks and resort areas. I also love experiencing the magic of Disney through the eyes of my children. There’s nothing like it!

Favorite Disney destination and why? Walt Disney World will always be my favorite. I also love sailing with Disney Cruise Line, but there is a sense of nostalgia with WDW. So many wonderful memories of times spent with family!

Favorite Disney Character and why?  My very favorite Disney character is Minnie Mouse! She is always happy and friendly, the perfect hostess, and loves all-things girly!

Favorite Disney Attraction and why? I really do love the bigger thrill rides, but I would have to say my favorite is “It’s a Small World”. It is one of the few rides I remember from my very first visit, and I remember riding with my grandma, who has since passed away. Every time I hear that song and ride in the boat, I fondly remember my grandma.

Favorite Disney Resort and why? My favorite resort is Disney’s Art of Animation Resort. My family really enjoys staying in one of the Family Suites, especially in a Finding Nemo suite. The theming and attention to detail in each section is absolutely incredible!

Favorite Disney Restaurant and why? That’s a tough one! There are so many amazing restaurants to choose from, but I would say my favorite is ‘Ohana at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. Breakfast with Lilo and Stitch is so much fun, and my family absolutely loves it! While dinner is not a character meal, there are still fun activities for the kids. If you time your reservation right, you can see the fireworks at Magic Kingdom while you enjoy dinner!

Favorite Disney Quick Service Restaurant and why?  My favorite quick service is La Cantina de San Angel- this is located across from the pyramid in Mexico in the Epcot World Showcase. Their covered patio area overlooking the water is a great place to enjoy some tacos or nachos!

3 Disney characters you’d like to have dinner with and why? I would love to have dinner with Ariel, Cinderella, and Belle. They were my favorite princesses as a child (and still are!).

Favorite Disney snack and why? Hands down, the Pineapple Dole Whip Float is my favorite. It is the perfect refreshing snack on a hot Florida day!

Favorite Disney Movie and why?  My very favorite Disney movie is “The Little Mermaid”. That is the very first movie I saw in a movie theater as a little girl, and I loved it! Ariel has always been my favorite princess because I have red hair, too!

3 Favorite Disney Songs and why? I really love any Disney song, but three of my favorite classics are “When You Wish Upon a Star”, “A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes”, and “You Can Fly! You Can Fly! You Can Fly!”. When I hear one of these three songs, it makes me feel like I’m at Disney World for just a moment!

Disney character you’re most similar to and why? I would say I am most similar to Tinker Bell. I love to help others, and it’s my job to spread pixie dust on all of my clients’ vacations!

If you could be one Disney mascot for a day who would it be and why? I would want to be one of the Disney princesses. As a mother to 2 little girls, I love seeing them meet some of their very favorite princesses that they look up to. What an amazing experience it must be for those princesses!

If you could work at one of the Disney theme parks, what job would you want and why? I would love to be a character handler! How fun would it be to see the reactions of people meeting their favorite character? And you get to hang out with that character all day!

Best part about being a MickeyTravels Disney Travel Agent? Being a part of MickeyTravels has been such a blessing! Not only do I have the best job in the world and get to make magic for my clients, but I have gained a family through all of the other MickeyTravels agents!
