Name: Lisa Ziegler
Where are you from? Ann Arbor, Michigan
First memory of Disney? My very first memory of Disney was watching the Wonderful World of Disney with my family. We all would forget our troubles and let Walt take our imaginations on a journey of happiness and love.
What makes Disney MAGICAL in your eyes? Disney’s magic lies in imagination and endless possibilities. With everything Disney, love wins. With Disney, one can forget all their worries and escape into a world of love with no boundaries! All our differences are pushed aside, for we all dream of a world of peace, love and hope! With Disney, Peace, Love and Hope hold reign over everything else…despite our differences.
Favorite Disney destination and why? Disney World. I became a fan of Disney World very early on in my life. Our family first experienced the Magic of Disney World when I was a child and then again as a teenager. I also was able to work at EPCOT and through attending Disney College seminars and training, I gained a wealth of knowledge about the Company, Parks and Resorts of Disney. I also grew as an individual and discovered gifts and talents that would impact my life forever. As newlyweds, my husband and I ventured together to experience our own Disney magic. Having experienced Disney through the eyes of all ages (I even planned a vacation for my 70 year old grandparents), I have a knowledge of what Disney holds true to its heart…and mine!
Favorite Disney Character and why? My favorite Disney Character is Thumper. “Bambi” was the first Disney movie that I had the pleasure (both with sadness and happiness) of watching! The words of Thumper have stuck with me from that day: “If you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say it all”. Wouldn’t our world be a much better place if we all listened to Thumper? J Disney started shaping my life through the words of Thumper… years ago!
Favorite Disney Attraction and why? This is a very tough one! I love Peter Pan. One of my first memories of going to Disney World is of “flying” at Disney World on the Peter Pan ride. I honestly believed I was flying that if you believe it …you can do it! I have never been to the park without Flying!
Favorite Disney Resort and why? My favorite Disney Resort is the Yacht and Beach Club resort. When I worked at EPCOT, I would drive my double decker bus to the International Gateway to pick up guests that were staying at this resort and they were always so wonderful and happy! I saw many beautiful Disney wedding ceremonies celebrated with Cinderella and Prince Charming! My favorite part of this resort, challenged only by the sensational location and amazing restaurants, is the pool! It has artificial sand that is designed to fall to the bottom of the pool so the water stays clear (when it was first designed, rumor has it, it was created to house fish). The pool is a pirate ship shaped with a water slide and lazy river with whirlpools, and a zero entry beach area! Great for families of all ages!!
Favorite Disney Restaurant and why? It truly depends on my mood…great food, great atmosphere, favorite character, with friends, family or just my husband. You cannot go wrong with a Disney restaurant! Favorite personal memory: San Angel Inn Restaurant in Epcot with my grandparents. They flew all the way to WDW to visit me while I was working at EPCOT. It was hot and we were hungry! We went inside the pyramid and relaxed in the cool air, dark skies with great food and very special conversation! I LOVE ‘Ohana’s for a character meal! I love that this restaurant serves family style! We went there when my youngest child was only 9 months old. It was so nice to not have to get up to get our food, yet the characters came to our table. It wasn’t crowded and the special parade at the restaurant is so cute with the kiddos! After we ate, we rode the boats in the lagoon and experienced a whole side of Disney without going into the parks! I love the Blue Bayou at Disneyland! I LOVE the ride Pirates of the Caribbean…and at this restaurant you are inside the ride dining on Cajun-Creole food! Delicious! I could keep going and going and going!
Favorite Disney Quick Service Restaurant and why? Hands down: Be Our Guest! Eating in the Beast’s Castle with food that is sensational! The knights talk to you, you get to choose which room to sit in, you dine on china…what’s not to love! BEST quick service value!!!
3 Disney characters you’d like to have dinner with and why? 1. Walt Disney…he counts, right? I would love to see how his creative brain works! 2. Mad Hatter….he’s hilarious and if ever I was in a poor mood, he’d change it! 3. Genie…from Aladdin…I’d like to give Three Wishes a try!
Favorite Disney snack and why? I’d have to have a drink and a snack: 1. A Mickey Mouse Premium Ice Cream Bar washed down with a Disney Dole Whip (always a snack MUST when I visit)!
Favorite Disney Movie and why? Star Wars (but I don’t have to choose which episode, right?). I was hooked when I was in third grade! I was Princess Leia (who knows how many times). I was in awe when I saw Billy D. Williams put his hands in Disney’s Walk of Fame! The ride is sensational at Hollywood Studios! Who doesn’t dream of traveling to a land Far Far Away….and be rescued by Luke and Hans?
3 Favorite Disney Song and why? 1. Not original, but I love it: “Let It Go!”, such great meaning in our world today! 2. “Morning Report” from Lion King! Our family always sings this song in the morning. It is a way to tell our daily plan for the day. 3. “Moses Supposes” from “Singing in the Rain”. One of my favorite movies! I even bought the poster when I first when to Hollywood Studios (along with a R2D2 t-shirt)!
Disney character you’re most similar to and why? At this time in my life, I am most like Mrs. Potts. I am motherly (a mother of three), honest, polite, kind, strict on responsibility and consoling. I do believe that “there may be something there that wasn’t there before” as we experience new and exciting adventures in our lives!
If you could be one Disney mascot for a day who would it be and why? Mickey Mouse….who doesn’t want to be the most loved character of all time!?!
If you could work at one of the Disney theme parks, what job would you want and why? I loved giving tours to the different countries while driving the double decker buses at EPCOT, but they are not there anymore! I would choose to work at the Jungle Cruise as one of the tour guides! I love their jokes!
Best part about being a MickeyTravels Disney Travel Agent? This is easy! I get to make MAGIC happen on a daily basis! MickeyTravels is a company that is composed of a wonderful team of travel agents that truly model Walt Disney’s business model!
