Getting your man to Disney (and making him to want to return)

Disney for Couples and Adults

I got to experience my husband’s first Disney experience while we were dating.  We were in our mid 20′s and on a group trip in Fort Lauderdale.  One day, while I was in the shower, the group suggested stopping at Disney before driving home to Ohio.  I was super excited and could not believe my husband had never been!

Disney for adults - boyfriend, fiancée or husband

That day was jam-packed with fun in the Magic Kingdom!  We chose Thunder Mountain as his first ride and made sure to hit all the major attractions and get Turkey Legs and Dole Whips!  The four of us packed so much Disney fun into the short day we spent there.

About a year later, my husband and I returned to Disney for a short trip to celebrate my 26th Birthday, our dating anniversary, and my new job.  It was a long weekend trip and it was my mission to show him all the great things Disney had to offer.  He had fun on our day trip to Magic Kingdom, but was skeptical about spending 4 days in a “kids place”.

We ended up having a wonderful time!  I could go into all the details, but instead I am going to post some of the things he liked best in hopes that you can use it to convince your boyfriend, fiancée or husband that a trip to Disney is not just for kids.

  1. He loved going around the world at Epcot.  We had margaritas in Mexico, pretzels in Germany, and egg rolls in Japan.
  2. While at Epcot, his other favorites was the Coke Cool Station where you can try Coke products from around the world and also Test Track where you get to play a crash test dummy and go on a road course.
  3. Snacks were another big hit… what guy doesn’t like I giant Turkey Leg?  He also enjoyed the Pineapple Float Dole Whip.
  4. Although my guy is not that into video games, he did love Buzz Lightyear & Toy Story Mania!  Altough he had no chance of beating me… I worked in the park!
  5. Thrill rides were another favorite with my man.  He loved rocking out to Aerosmith on the Rock n Rollercoaster, checking out the Yeti on Expedition Everest, and getting a little spooked on the Tower of Terror.
  6. Dining…. yep food is the way to your man’s heart.  He loved all the food choices at Disney and the themed restaurants like Tony’s and the Sci Fi diner.

Just these 6 things were enough to convince him to go back to Disney this year.  We are going on a couples trip with my best friend and her husband for 6 days!  I would also like to mention some of the things he wants to do this time around as they might also tempt your guy!

  1. Chilling out at the Blizzard Beach ski resort themed water park
  2. Golfing at championship courses
  3. Watersports like jet skiing and parasailing
  4. The Richard Petty Driving experience
