Catharine Porter – Virginia Disney Vacation Planner

Hi! My name is Catharine Porter!

I join MickeyTravels from Fredericksburg, VA. I share 4 sons, a daughter, 3 cats and a lizard with my husband Jeff. I spend my non-Disney time supporting my husband and oldest son with our family business, singing at church or enjoying concerts!

While I have spent the majority of my life in Virginia, for a few years, we called Los Angeles, CA home. Looking for work, I attended a job fair for Disneyland, got hired as a Cashier in California Adventure, and was so excited to work there during Disneyland’s 50th Anniversary celebration! As Annual Passholders, we took our toddler sons to Disneyland frequently. We fondly remember buying dozens of Mickey-shaped lollipops and snuggling my sleeping little ones on It’s a Small World and Pirates of the Caribbean boat rides.

My first opportunity to visit Disney World was with my high school choir in 2000, a memorable experience shared with my closest friends. 14 years later, I had the opportunity to take our family of 7 to Disney World for the first time – and we were hooked! We visited two more times offsite, brought my mom along to join in on the fun, and found out 60 year olds LOVE Space Mountain!

Everything changed in 2019 when I contacted MickeyTravels to plan our first Mom & Dad only trip and we stayed in Port Orleans French Quarter. We refer to this trip as the honeymoon we never had – 20 years later! I was so impressed with the level of service and attention our agent provided – securing our coveted dinner reservations, fireworks dessert parties and fast pass reservations – we continued to use her help and guidance in subsequent trips. Her excellent example inspired me to pursue a new vision.

Here I am, combining my love of Disney, and desire to help others navigate the process of planning a magical trip that exceeds their expectations. I am here for YOU! From planning out park days, discovering options that best fit your needs and budget, dining recommendations and reservations, understanding Genie Plus, and keeping up to date on all the Disney news to ensure you have the best trip ever!

My dream is to stay at least once at all of the Disney Resorts, and eventually retire in Florida to enjoy Disney and sunshine year-round!
