Why Should I Use an Authorized Disney Vacation Planner?

August 25, 2014

Why should I use an Authorized Disney Vacation Planner when I can do it myself? I have been asked this question a few times and my first response is always “Why not? It’s FREE to do so!” However, aside from the reasoning, that it is in fact FREE to use an Authorized Disney Travel Planner; I want to give you several additional reasons.

We are experts in our field. Let me explain. Disney has an enormous amount that can be seen and experienced. We are very familiar with all that Disney has to offer you as well as the best way to go about being able to experience some of those things and maximize your time spent, with Disney. We are continually learning and seeking to grow our knowledge of all things Disney, to be able to better assist you. Disney, as a company, is constantly making enhancements and changing how things work, to better suit you. We are “in the know” of those things, therefore giving us an edge.

Disney trip details

We do all the work for you, if that is what you prefer. If you want to plan all of the details of your trip, that is completely ok as well. However, we offer full service vacation planning. We will do everything from booking your resort reservation to grabbing those hard to get dining reservations, assisting you in deciding what rides to Fastpass, share crowd predictions and the list goes on.

We get you the best price available, even after you have booked. Yes, that is correct. Even after you book and pay your deposit, we are still watching for promotions to be released. If one does come out and your trip qualifies for it, we will apply it to your promotion, giving you the cheaper package price. We want you to rest assured that you will receive the best price that we can find and we are willing to work hard to make that happen.

You won’t be “just another name.” You are very important to us. It is because of you and your family that we are able to do what we do. When you book with me, I want you to know that I will go above and beyond to make sure that every aspect of your trip is taken care of and that much are and thought has gone into the details, of your Disney vacation. You will have direct access to me, so you will be able to reach out to me with any questions that you may have. I am readily accessible and respond to you promptly. You will never have to sit on “hold for the next available agent.”

When you book with me, you will receive:

  • A detailed itinerary approximately 30 days before you travel
  • Schedule of park hours, fireworks, parades and shows
  • Park Maps so you are prepared before arriving
  • All of your resort information including your confirmation #

I can’t wait to talk with you and begin helping you and your family plan an amazing Disney getaway! Disney is filled with so much fun and magic, it doesn’t matter if this is your first Disney Cruise or your 15th visit to Disney World. There is always something new to see and do and I am excited to help make that happen.

It is a privilege, honor and blessing to be able to play a small role in creating the memories that you and your family, will remember for a lifetime!

July 30, 2014

We here, at MickeyTravels, are so excited to be among the first to tell you that you are now able to book your vacation packages for 2015!!! As of this morning, Disney has released the package pricing for this next year.

How early should I book?

I suggest booking as soon as you know the dates you are wanting to travel. When you book your vacation, we can get started on also making your dining reservations. These open up 180 days in advance, so by booking your vacation early, is a huge benefit to being able to get the reservations you want. You also have more of a selection, as far as resorts are concerned, as well.

How much will my vacation cost?

It is likely that you will be booking it a “Rack Rate.” However, one of the benefits to booking with me is that I am continually on the lookout for new promotions to be released and when one does (that your trip qualifies for), I will be able to call and apply that promotion to your vacation (depending on availability), reflecting the cheaper price. It is a win-win!

Be Our Guest Restaurant

March 25, 2013

For years I have been saying that the Magic Kingdom was in dire need of more table service restaurants. So when they announced the opening of Be Our Guest Restaurant in the New Fantasyland, I could not have been happier.

The Be Our Guest Restaurant is located inside of Beast’s Castle and opened in December 2012. It marks the first time a restaurant inside the gates of Magic Kingdom would sell wine and beer. It is unique in the fact that lunch is quick service and dinner is table service. The pictures of the restaurant were simply amazing. It truly seemed like you were stepping into Beauty and the Beast.

With all of the buzz generated by the Be Our Guest Restaurant, and the New Fantasyland in general, you can only imagine my excitement when we secured an advanced dining reservation for our most recent trip!

On the day of our reservation we entered the Magic Kingdom and headed straight to the New Fantasyland to check it out. Lunch had just started at Be Our Guest Restaurant. The line was so long we didn’t have a chance of going in to check it out. So we enjoyed the rest of the park and returned for our 5:10 pm reservation almost 15 minutes early, as we were worried that it would be crowded. But the line at the hostess stand was fairly short. We were given a pager and we waited near the front of the castle.

Before long we were seated in the Ballroom. The interior of the restaurant was breathtaking. We were seated near windows with “snow” falling on the other side. The room was massive! I snuck a glance in the West Wing too and all of a sudden I felt like Belle sneaking around the castle (with 550 of my closest friends).

Beast walked through the Be Our Guest Restaurant periodically to wave at his guests. He would quickly retreat to the study where he bid au revoir to his dinner guests as they left. We tried to go visit Beast before our meal, but the Cast Member standing guard was adamant that we must finish our meal before greeting the master of this house.

We ordered the assortment of cured meats and sausages as an appetizer. It was served with cornichons, pickled onions, and toasted baguette*. Our only complaint was that our server did not explain what everything was. Since the offerings on this platter often changes, this would have been helpful. Thankfully one of my dining companions is a true foodie, and was able to guess what everything was.

For the main course, I had the pan-seared salmon on leek fondue which was served with creamy saffron-crushed potatoes*. Ordering salmon is often a risk. It is usually either really good or really bad, depending on how it is prepped. This had a subtle taste and was pretty good. But the fondue and potatoes were fantastic!

One of my friends ordered the grilled strip steak served with garlic-herb butter and pommes frites*.  The steak was good, but the pomme frites (the French word for french fries) were fantastic.

Disney pommes frites

My other friend ordered the sautéed shrimp and scallops, which was served with seasonal vegetables on a puff pastry with a creamy lobster sauce*. It looked wonderful and my friend said it was excellent.

For dessert, a display case with selections was rolled to our table. It was hard to choose! We finally decided on strawberry-cream cheese cupcake which was a vanilla sponge cake, strawberry mousse filling, and cream cheese icing* and the triple chocolate cupcake which was chocolate sponge cake, chocolate mousse filling, and chocolate ganache*. Decadent and rich, these were the perfect ending to a great dining experience.

French bistro

I will return for lunch on my next visit as the menu has more of a French bistro feel. MickeyTravels agents Kristin Vamvakitis and Sarah Curtis were at Disney World during the same week and they were so impressed by their lunch at Be Our Guest Restaurant they went back for a second visit. They told me that while the line was long, it moved very quickly. After your order is placed you are given a rose with GPS, so they can find you when your meal is ready. Your meal is brought to you in the same cart they use for desserts during dinner. Both Sarah and Kristin highly recommend the grilled steak sandwich. I can’t wait to go back to the Be Our Guest Restaurant and try it for myself!

To find out more about the Be Our Guest Restaurant contact any of the MickeyTravels agents!  They can help with all your dining reservations for this and other restaurants and also assist with all your Disney vacation planning.
