Gloriously Grand: The Grand Floridian Resort and Spa

I have tried many, if not most of the resorts on the Disney World property in Orlando and each one is uniquely special. Still, there is something wonderfully enchanting about my favorite place to stay, the Grand Floridian Resort and Spa. Maybe it’s the beautifully clean yet ornate architecture of this crimson roofed, Victorian resort which captivates guests. Or perhaps the magnificent five story lobby, adorned with two brilliant chandeliers, intricately detailed furniture, and the inviting sound of a pianist playing tunes (even taking requests) on the concert grand piano. You will be immediately charmed by the elegance and grace, yet always Disney casualness of this resort.

The Grand Floridianis one of Disneyworld’s flagship hotels, located on the white sandy shores of the Seven Seas Lagoon, adjacent to the Magic Kingdom. This hotel boasts monorail access, making traveling to the Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, or the Ticket and Transportation Center simple and hassle free. The view of the Magic Kingdom from the grounds of this hotel is amazing. One of my families’ favorite things to do is watch the Water Pageant Parade and the Magic Kingdom fireworks from our comfortable positions on lounge chairs located on the beach.

The rooms within the hotel are graceful and well designed, giving you a charming feeling, with a lovely turn of the century atmosphere. This hotel has an array of different types of rooms to fit every family’s needs. When booking, guests may also request specific views and personalized concierge services.

The Grand Floridian also features amazing shopping and dining. Just to name a few, guests can enjoy tasty snack bar treats at Gasparilla grill, charming character meals at 1900 Park Fare, and the deliciously delicate 5 star Victoria and Albert’s. Dining at the Grand Floridian will surely satisfy every taste. My family and I especially enjoy having dinner at Narcoossee’s, a steak / seafood restaurant located on the banks of the Seven Seas Lagoon. The shopping is also wonderful here. In fact, even if I am staying elsewhere on Disney property, I always make it a point to stop in for some retail therapy at the Grand Floridian.

The Grand Floridian is a wonderfully charming, elegant yet of course casual, resort and one of my favorite places to stay, dine, or even just stop by to shop. This enchanting resort just adds to the amazing magic of Walt Disneyworld Orlando.
