Name: Jamie Myers

Where are you from? Illinois

The Main Street Electrical Parade

First memory of Disney? Watching The Main Street Electrical Parade at age 3 in Disneyland. It was and is my very favorite Disney parade.

What makes Disney MAGICAL in your eyes? The look on my children’s faces when they meet a Disney character for the first time!

Favorite Disney destination and why? I love Walt Disney World because you get to giggle at Magic Kingdom, explore the world in Epcot, enjoy entertainment at Hollywood Studios and have adventures in Animal Kingdom. There is so much to do!

Favorite Disney Character and why? I love Minnie Mouse. She is classic and sweet and cute as a button.

Favorite Disney Attraction and why? My current new favorite attraction is the 7 Dwarfs Mine Train in New Fantasyland in Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World. I also LOVE Soarin’ in Epcot in Walt Disney World.

7 Dwarfs Mine Train

Favorite Disney Resort and why? I love Art of Animation family suites to get extra space on a budget for my larger family. I also really enjoy The Boardwalk Inn. The feel of The Boardwalk Inn is super fun and there is so much to do in the boardwalk area (e.g. magic shows, carnival performers).

Favorite Disney Restaurant and why? My entire family are fans of Akershus in Epcot. We love it for breakfast. So yummy. Plus, when you get your favorite princesses to visit you at the table it adds such magic. Plus, it is only 1 table service credit on the dining plan. Win, Win in my book!

Favorite Disney Quick Service Restaurant and why? Columbia Harbour House in Magic Kingdom is the best. We always check to see if the upstairs is open to get a table out of the way. We enjoy the tuna salad sandwiches. Yum!

3 Disney characters you’d like to have dinner with and why? I would go with Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse and Elsa. Mickey and Minnie are the characters I most remember from my childhood and Elsa captures the wonder my children experience with Disney today.

Favorite Disney snack and why? Can’t go wrong with Mickey ice creams ears. I remember eating them as a child. They still taste amazing with a touch of magic.

Favorite Disney Movie and why? Currently I am obsessed with Frozen like so many others. What an amazing story of love and learning! Plus, the tunes are super fun to sing.

3 Favorite Disney Songs and why? Figment’s “Imagination” song, “Great big beautiful tomorrow” from the Carousel of Progress and Haunted Mansion’s “Grim Grinning Ghosts”. Each of these reminds me of a special ride at Walt Disney World!

Disney character you’re most similar to and why? Snow White, because I almost have 7 dwarfs of my own! (Only 5 children, actually!)

If you could be one Disney mascot for a day who would it be and why? I would be Tinker Bell, just so I could fly from the castle after Wishes fireworks.

If you could work at one of the Disney theme parks, what job would you want and why? I think I would like to be a cast member at The Haunted Mansion. “There are 999 happy haunts in all, but beware there is always room for one more…”

Best part about being a MickeyTravels Disney Travel Agent? MickeyTravels is like family to me. We truly love our jobs and enjoy “making magic one vacation at a time.” I could not imagine being anywhere else. We pride ourselves on providing the best customer service possible.

Why should I book my vacation with you? I plan each and every vacation as if it were my own. I put magical details into all of the trips I plan. I enjoy getting to know my clients and what is important to each of them.   Contact me, today, and we can get started with your magical vacation. *O*

Planning a Disney vacation can be overwhelming and wearisome. There are plenty of things to consider; number of days needed to see all the parks, park hopper, meal plans, hotel/resort accommodations, rental cars, or if you plan to do some sightseeing outside Disney.

My husband and I tried to plan our Disney World vacation on own.  We spent two weeks planning our trip by visiting online travel websites such as Orbitz, Travelocity, and Expedia comparing prices, accommodations, and flights. The process was frustrating because the prices seem to change dramatically or our hotel preference would not be available just by changing the flight times.  We purchased a couple of Disney Travel books and still we felt at lost.  We want this trip to be memorable to us and out two children and want every aspect of our trip to be perfect.  We contacted Elyssa of MickeyTravels, LLC (elyssa@mickeytravels.com) to help us with our vacation plans.

Elyssa asked a few basic questions; when are we planning on taking the trip, how long we are staying, number of children and their ages, if we are planning on touring other theme parks other than Disney, our resort preference (value, moderate, or deluxe), and our dining plan. Based on our responses she was able to give us recommendations that same day! The price came out less than online travel sites.  Even better she explained the meal plan which can be confusing.  The meal plan we chose was the standard plan which includes one quick service, one snack, and one table service.  The meal plan would allow us to have the flexibility of different restaurant choices without having to worry about the prices of food because it is prepaid.  The price of food comes out 30% less because of the meal plan.
