First memory of Disney? As a small child camping near WDW. Then we moved to the Orlando area when I was a teenager and I spent many days at Walt Disney World!

What makes Disney MAGICAL in your eyes? The Characters!! When I see Mickey I go nuts. I get his autograph and get my picture kissing Mickey! I love the interaction with all the princesses and face characters also. Talking to them about their stories is so much fun. It makes the experience!

theme park

Favorite Disney destination and why? Walt Disney World; there is so much to see and do. We usually spend 10+ days and fill every day with magical memories! We have a goal to try to find something new to do each trip.

Favorite Disney Character and why? Mickey Mouse — I just love his personality! Several years ago at Garden Grill I was posing with him for a picture and he turned and wiggled his nose and kissed me and it just stole my heart. He has been my favorite ever since.

Favorite Disney Attraction and why? Finding Nemo the Musical. The puppetry by the cast is amazing. The singing and acting is unmatched. It is not only my favorite but a family favorite. This show gives me goosebumps every time I see it! When the cast interacts you can tell there is a true love for one another.

Disney attractions

Favorite Disney Resort and why? We love Pop Century. It holds a special place in our hearts. We like the value and really like that it has its own bus line. And there’s nothing like seeing the giant character statues throughout the resort. Every stay is always a Hippy Dippy great time!

Favorite Disney Restaurant and why? Fairytale Dining at Cinderella’s Royal Table. Dining in Cinderella Castle is just amazing. Walking up the spiral staircase is so exciting and then you enter the royal dining area. You truly feel like a queen and king with this dining experience and you get a free photo! You can also request to sit by the window for an extraordinary view of the carousel!

Disney Quick Service Restaurant and why? Starring Rolls Cafe. The sandwiches are huge and delicious, and the chocolate peanut butter cupcake is out of this world!

3 Disney characters you’d like to have dinner with and why? Anna, Rapunzel and Mrs. Incredible. Who doesn’t think this would be an amazing conversation with these determined, focused, and optimistic women?

Favorite Disney snack and why? LeFou’s Brew at Gaston’s Tavern. It is absolutely delicious and cools you off on a hot day.

Favorite Disney Movie and why? Monsters, Inc. The relationship between Sully and Boo is so touching to watch as it blossoms during the movie. I also love the relationship between Mike and Sully.

3 Favorite Disney Songs and why?

When You Wish Upon a Star – You are never too old to wish upon a star.

In the Big Blue World – I adore the Finding Nemo the Musical soundtrack. Every time I hear this song in particular I see the stage and all the beautiful puppets and props.

Spectromagic Parade Song – We listen to this often and relive the memories of our all time favorite Disney parade.

Disney character you’re most similar to and why? Tinkerbell; I have taken multiple personality quizzes and this is who I get, LOL. I am adventurous, loving and loyal.

If you could be one Disney mascot for a day who would it be and why? Minnie Mouse; it would be so much fun being the “First Lady of WDW.”

If you could work at one of the Disney theme parks, what job would you want and why? To be a Disney Princess. I would absolutely adore seeing all the little girls dressed up in their princess dresses and watching their eyes light up when they see the princess in “real life” — awwww heartwarming!!

MickeyTravels Agent Virtual Meet & Greet – Lynn Blevens

October 21, 2014

MickeyTravels is excited about our new initiative – The MickeyTravels Agent Virtual Meet & Greet. We will feature a different MickeyTravels agent on a daily basis. We’re proud to have the best Disney Travel agents in the world as part of our MickeyTravels team and this will allow you to get to know them even better. Today the spotlight shines on Lynn Blevens from Washington!

Disney Virtual Meet & GreetName: Lynn Blevens

Where are you from? I was born and raised in Oregon but I moved to Washington six years ago when I got married. My husband and I now live just across the Columbia River from Portland, Oregon. We are in Vancouver, Washington with the boy with just adopted and our two little dogs.

Walt Disney

First memory of Disney?  As a young child, my family and I would sit down in front of the TV on Sunday nights waiting for Walt Disney to appear and introduce that night’s magical show. It was truly something to look forward to and helped me feel I was part of the Disney family no matter where I was.

Disney Travel AgentWhat makes Disney MAGICAL in your eyes?  I have always believed that the magic of Disney began with Walt and that his message, “Laughter is timeless. Imagination has no age. And dreams are forever.” was a way to live. He created a world where it was not only accepted but encouraged to view the world as a child with a child’s wonder and joy. The world through the eyes of children is nothing less than magical and who doesn’t love to be able to live with moments of that kind of wonder and enjoyment!

Disney Travel AgentFavorite Disney destination and why?  How can I pick one destination?! I absolutely love the Disney parks with a new appreciation for Disney’s California Adventure. I find joy and happiness every time I visit. I have also traveled the world, however, just as one does on an Adventure by Disney. My time in the counties of Vietnam and China, along with other locales, has been some of the most memorable I have ever had.

Disney Travel AgentFavorite Disney Character and why?  I have long had a deep love of all things Pooh. As an educator, I so appreciated the fact that the inhabitants of 100 Acre Wood live a life without violence; I always believed they had plenty to teach children. I must also admit that there is now part of me that loves to laugh at the “sas” of Disney Pixar’s Mrs. Potato Head when she “puts on angry eyes” and shows just how she’s feeling with one little look.

Disney Travel AgentFavorite Disney Attraction and why?  For someone who loves children and culture, is it any question that my first love has always been “It’s a Small World”? And I don’t mind dragging anyone who is with me on the ride at least once a trip – no matter how long the song stays with us afterwards! On our most recent trip, I did find myself returning to Toy Story Midway Mania to better my score, however!

resortFavorite Disney Resort and why?  With Disney there are so many choices and resorts are no exception – there are so many great locations! If I have to pick I guess I’d say… I love the look and feel of the Grand Californian Hotel at Disneyland. It is warm, rustic, inviting, and at the back door of Californian Adventure. Now that’s a great bonus!

Favorite Disney Restaurant and why?

restaurantForgive me but I’ve got to pick two. They are completely opposite one another and I just could not choose.

California Grill at Disney’s Contemporary Resort: The food and service are fabulous, the view is amazing, and the evening is topped off with a view of fireworks from the Magic Kingdom (at least). It is a memorable evening and well worth a visit!

resortHoop Dee Doo Revue at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Campground: Here you eat all things bar-b-que but you are also in for an evening of entertainment. On our visit a performer asked where we were from and then announced to the entire restaurant that we’d traveled from Washington. The responding performer shouted out, “All the way from Washingtun…Kick up your heels and have some fun!” We felt we were “somethin’ purty special” after that!

restaurantFavorite Disney Quick Service Restaurant and why?  On our most recent trip to Disney World, we had lunch at “Be Our Guest.” Not only did the restaurant have three magical dining rooms, each with their own flair, the food was truly delicious. This is a great place to have a true Disney “experience” while enjoying a very tasty meal.

Disney Travel Agent3 Disney characters you’d like to have dinner with and why?  I have never laughed at a character as hard as I did upon meeting Gaston! I love to laugh and think an evening in his presence would be memorable! I’d also want to include Alice – her message is charming, clever, and quick. We might have to add Mary Poppins to the group; she would keep Gaston in his place. It makes me chuckle just to think of the three of them together around the table. What a fun meal!

snackFavorite Disney snack and why?  The Dole Whip found at the Tiki Juice Bar outside the Enchanted Tiki Room… What’s not to love?!

Disney Travel AgentFavorite Disney Movie and why?  As a girl, I loved the movie Jungle Book. I’m not actually sure what the draw was except that I loved the music. I can still remember when my parents bought me the Jungle Book album (the precursor to the CD for those of you who are too young to know J). It was just so fun! And I’ve kept it all these years!

3 Favorite Disney Song and why?  How can you like Jungle Book and not love “The Bear Necessities”?! Then there’s “It’s a Small World” even if you can’t get the song out of your head all day. And finally, “Hakuna Matada.” Yet another catchy tune. Which one are you singing now?

Disney Travel AgentDisney character you’re most similar to and why?  I have to say, I think there’s a little of Merida from Brave in me (although the similarities are obviously not at all physical). I have never been a “princess” and the description of Merida as an, “…outgoing, forceful, headstrong and willful personality” with a “softness of heart.” rings a bit true with me.

characterIf you could be one Disney mascot for a day who would it be and why?  Well, today I’d like to be Alice from Alice in Wonderland (this might change tomorrow). She is clever and fun and not too “stuffy.” Besides, she makes people chuckle and gets to tell people that, “You can celebrate your un-birthday every day except when it’s your real birthday and then you can celebrate your birthday. But on your un-birthday you can have un-birthday tea and un-birthday cake and un-birthday candles. You can always have something to celebrate when you celebrate your un-birthday!” How fun!

theme parkIf you could work at one of the Disney theme parks, what job would you want and why?  There is no doubt that my job at Disney would have to be one where there is talking! Customer relations would be perfect but during our last visit we participated in the “Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom” experience. It was so fun to learn about the experience from the Main Street Firehouse cast members and return to talk to them again each day. I would enjoy sharing this fairly new experience with others. Besides, the Firehouse is right there at the parade entrance/exit. An added bonus.

theme parkBest part about being a MickeyTravels Disney Travel Agent?  The idea of helping others realize their Disney dreams is not only exciting but incredibly rewarding! Who wouldn’t love being an instrument in helping others find joy and happiness and create their own memories for a lifetime!

theme parkWhy should I book my vacation with you?  I want to know what YOU, your family, and your friends enjoy and what you want to have happen on YOUR vacation. I want to help create the vacation experience you are dreaming of, one that will be filled with outstanding memories. What happens to you on your Disney vacation is important to me – I plan your vacation as though I am planning one for my loved ones, friends and myself. I have a love of Disney and strong organizational and planning skills. You can focus on the fun to come while I do as little or as much as you’d like in the planning of that fun!

Disney’s California Screamin’

August 14, 2012

Those boardwalks on the coasts come alive during the summer as beach goers come for the fun of games, ice cream, and the thrills.  However, at Disney’s California Adventure, Paradise Pier wouldn’t be complete with its boardwalk thrill California Screamin‘!

roller coaster

Disney’s California Screamin; is a heart-pounding roller coaster that takes you for an adrenaline rush through Paradise Pier.  Once buckled up, the ride train takes off and makes a short stop right before entering the launch hill.  Guests are given a scenic view of Mickey’s Fun Wheel and Paradise Bay.  When the countdown hits, you better hold on because in less than 5 seconds, your train boosts at full speed and up you go on that lift hill!

On Disney’s California Screamin‘, you go through the ups and dips and some sharp curves while taking in the coastal breeze that the state of California embraces for its beaches!  As you dive on this roller coaster, you can hear music pumping through the speakers.  The music makes you feel that you are part of the summer and to make the most of it before heading back to the books this fall!  Unique to California Screamin’ is the addition of a loop.  Having a loop on a Disney roller coaster is pretty radical considering that most of the rides do not have inversions.  With the exception of Hong Kong Disneyland, at Disney theme parks worldwide there is at least one ride that carries an inversion!
