fun place to stay at DisneyDisney toysLooking for somewhere fun to stay? How about Disney’s Pop Century Resort at Walt Disney World. The resort is unlike any other hotel you have ever stayed, it’s more like a celebration of 20th century pop culture! Disney’s Pop Century Resort opened December 13th 2013 as a Disney Value Resort. Since then families have been in awe of its bright colors and amazing detail to everything you loved as a child and adult from the 1950’s thru the 1990’s.

Disney’s Polynesian Resort

As a MickeyTravels Disney travel specialist who also happens to live in central Florida, my clients often ask me to make recommendations regarding where they should stay while visiting Disney World.  My answers vary; each client has unique needs and preferences, and each Disney Resort hotel has magical features to offer.

For families with children or any guest looking for a fun-filled atmosphere, Disney’s Polynesian Resort is a wonderful hotel to consider. I’ve had many families stay at the Polynesian, and their feedback has been exceptionally positive. Families appreciate the convenient location of this hotel. One of three Disney hotels located on the monorail line, the Polynesian is a quick monorail ride away from the Magic Kingdom and two easy monorail rides away from Epcot. And kids love to watch the monorail go by almost as much as they love riding it!

My clients have also told me that they enjoy the overall atmosphere of the Polynesian. From the tropical-themed rooms offering beautiful views, to the friendly cast members who greet guests with warm “Alohas,” to the white-sand lake beaches and lush vegetation, guests at the Polynesian feel as if they’ve been transported to a tropical paradise. Here are two photographs of my family in the lobby at the Polynesian. It doesn’t get much prettier than this!

Ohana at Disney

August 23, 2012

Disney dining optionAloha, E Komo Mai!  Welcome to  ‘Ohana, my favorite table service restaurant at Walt Disney World.   A family style restaurant which offers an “all you can eat” dining option, ‘Ohana is the perfect location for a family gathering with delicious food and an amusing atmosphere.

‘Ohana is located on the second floor of the gorgeous Polynesian Resort at Walt Disney World.   It is a very convenient monorail ride away from the Magic Kingdom.

For breakfast you are joined by Mickey, Pluto, Lilo and Stitch.  Before you are seated for your meal, you can take a family picture with your leis that are provided upon checking in.  On the way to your table, the waiter will pick up a basket of homemade pastries for you.   The pineapple bread is amazing.  Once you are seated, you will be served scrambled eggs, friend potatoes, sausage, bacon, fruit, juice and the infamous Mickey waffles.  Your children will have an opportunity to hula dance around the room in a kanga line to “Hawaiian Roller Coaster Ride,” the theme song from Lilo and Stitch.  All the characters come by to visit at ‘Ohana, so make sure to have your camera ready.
