All Aboard Disney’s Magical Express!

January 28, 2013

free transportation to Disney from airport

Did you know that when you book your stay at one of Walt Disney World’s resort hotels, you receive FREE transportation from the airport to your resort?  Yes, that’s right, I said the words FREE and Disney in the same sentence!

One of the many perks of staying on-site at a Disney resort is boarding Disney’s Magical Express at the Orlando International Airport.  Simply follow the signs to Disney’s Magical Express on the baggage claim level and you will be directed to your magical carriage (er, bus that is). You don’t even have to worry about your luggage!  Disney will take care of transporting your bags as well, and it will arrive within a few hours in your room at your chosen Disney resort.

All you have to do is climb aboard and let the magic begin!  Rather than being stuck on the freeway, and worrying about getting lost or missing your exit, you will be immersed in all things Disney right away.  A welcome video plays on board – previewing some of the many things for you to do and see on your trip.  In my experience, this keeps kids interested and heightens their anticipation during the 40-or so minute trip to your destination.

Disney’s Magical Express will take you to the main entrance of your resort so you can get right to the magic!  Upon your return, you can check your bags at the Magical Express desk in your resort, and Disney will take care of getting your bags to the airport (leaving you free to soak up a little more magic during your last day at the World).

When booking your Walt Disney World vacation package, make sure to include your flight information and request your ride on Disney’s Magical Express!   Your Authorized Disney Vacation Planner can give you more information, and book your Magical Express transportation for you.

Have a Magical Trip!

*And remember, I can help you plan your Disney vacation.  Planning services and no-obligation quotes are always FREE!

Disney’s Transportation System

September 10, 2012

With Disney’s transportation system we invite you to relax, enjoy the ride and let us do the driving – you’ll be home soon!

One of the last things you and your family want to worry about on your Disney Vacation is transportation. Imagine a world where you’re swept away by bus, monorail, or ferry and then taken to and from your choice of park at NO additional cost? Well then welcome to Walt Disney Worlds Transportation System. As a guest of Walt Disney World, you have the luxury of Disney’ transportation system as your disposal.

Bus bus

Unlike the big yellow bus you used to take to school or the sometimes smelly city bus you can ride to work Walt Disney Worlds buses are fun and full of color.  The buses are one of the most convenient things of Disney’s transportation system because no matter where you need to go there is a bus to take you there.  Taking a bus is as simple as walking out your resorts main lobby and locating the bus stops, all which have marked loading stations to take you to your park choice for the day. After your day of fun is over and you are ready to return home to your resort a WDW bus will pick you up in the same spot you were dropped off. One important tip to keep in mind: hotel buses go to parks and park buses go to hotels. If you plan on going from park to park you must first go to one of the closest resorts to hop in line to the park you would like to go to.

Shuttle Ride shuttle airport hotel

When it comes to traveling from the airport to your resort Walt Disney World has you covered. Disney’s Magical Express is a no-cost shuttle service available to guests flying in and out of Orlando International Airport (MCO) and staying at a Walt Disney World Resort Hotel.

Transportation Monorail

Soar through the parks in a comfortable monorail:

Even if don’t use the monorail as your primary means of transportation I say hop on and enjoy it as an extra fun ride! The monorail runs on three service routes around the Walt Disney World Resort area. Depending where you are taking the monorail can be the quickest way to leave the park for dinner and hop back on to return into the park.

If you are staying at a hotel that does not have the monorail connected to it, simply take the bus to the Magic Kingdom and then hop on to the monorail to take you to any of the Monorail Resorts for a nice meal.

How about a smooth boat ride to your destination:

If you are looking for a different way to get around through Disney’s transportation system and don’t mind a slower ride, then a boat ride is a great choice. There are a few different types of boat service located through Walt Disney World. Before boarding a boat, make sure to read the signs and know where the boat is taking you. Boat service begins 30 minutes prior to the park opening and runs 60 minutes after the park closes. If bad weather develops, the boats can suspend service until it is safe to travel across the water.

Ferry Boat Service – Sails from the Ticket and Transportation Center to the Magic Kingdom

Boat Launches:

  • Blue Flag Launch – Runs between Ft. Wilderness and the Wilderness Lodge to the Contemporary Resort.
  • Red Flag Launch – Picks guest up at the Wilderness Lodge
  • Gold Flag LaunchGuest pick up at Disney’s Grand Floridian and Polynesian Resorts.
  • Green Flag LaunchGuest pick up at the Ft. Wilderness Campgrounds.

If you are a guest at The Boardwalk, Beach Club, Yacht Club, Dolphin and Swan Resorts you can use water transportation to get to Epcot and Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

The transportation systems available on your Disney Vacation are just one of the many added perks to staying at a Walt Disney World Resort!

“Making Magic One Vacation at a Time…”

1900 Park Fare

September 6, 2012

Grand Floridian Resort and Spa

If you would like to dine with some of Disney’s famous characters and enjoy some wonderful food, I have the place for you!  1900 Park Fare restaurant is located in Walt Disney World’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa. It offers breakfast and dinner Character buffets in an enchanting atmosphere.  The restaurant is decorated in Victorian era fair, with carousel horses and pastel colors.  “Big Bertha,” a large concert organ built in France, is mounted towards the ceiling of the large dining room and plays music while you are dining.

Mary Poppins at Disney

The Supercalifragilistic Breakfast is one of our favorite meals of every trip.  Your family will be joined by Mary Poppins, Alice in Wonderland, the Mad Hatter, Tigger, and Winnie the Pooh.  Every character will come by your table at 1900 Park Fare to greet and welcome you.

There is a huge variety of breakfast foods, including, but not limited to pastries, breads, yogurt, fruit, eggs, made to order omelets, bacon, sausage, ham, cheesy scrambled eggs, lobster eggs benedict, potatoes… and my personal favorites, Mickey waffles and the chilled strawberry soup.  Make sure you are really hungry before you go to your breakfast at 1900 Park Fare because the options are plentiful and the food is delicious!

Cinderella’s Happily Ever After dinner is another great option for a Character meal.  While savoring your delectable dinner, you will have some magical moments with Cinderella, Prince Charming, Lady Tremaine, and the evil stepsisters Anastasia and Drisella.  Don’t be surprised if you also see the Fairy Godmother or Suzy and Perla the mischievous mice.  You will definitely want to have your camera ready.

Your dinner at 1900 Park Fare will include, but again will not be limited to, salad, fruit, soup (chilled strawberry soup will be one of them- don’t miss it!), mashed potatoes, salmon, broccoli, corn, macaroni and cheese, pasta, prime rib, chicken masala, tortellini, brownies/cookies, and ice cream.

1900 Park Fare also hosts the Wonderland Tea Party in the afternoon for kids ages 4 to 12.  Your children will be served a special tea (apple juice) to sip on while they enjoy games, stories and cupcakes.  Not only will your children be able to pose for pictures with Alice and Mad Hatter, they will also decorate their own cupcakes and create some imaginative take-home crafts.

Alice and Mad Hatter

It is a quick monorail ride away from the Magic Kingdom to 1900 Park Fare, so I recommend making an Advanced Dining Reservation on a day you will be spending time at the Magic Kingdom.  Yes, that is right…You need to make this reservation early!

1900 Park Fare presents a whimsical dining experience with some classic Disney characters.  The food is great, but the Character interaction is priceless.
