January 1, 2017

LONG VALLEY, NJ (January 3, 2016) – MickeyTravels, LLC excels in “Making Magic” and 2016 was a banner year for the nationally recognized leader in planning Disney vacations.

MickeyTravels is thrilled to announce today that it has again earned Disney Destinations’ highest possible Earmarked award by receiving the exclusive PLATINUM level status.  This is the second consecutive year MickeyTravels has earned this impressive distinction.

As an Authorized Disney Vacation Planner, MickeyTravels is proud to be the go-to travel agency of choice for tens of thousands of families across the United States.  All the magical services MickeyTravels offers are 100% FREE and their commitment to industry-leading customer service has earned them repeated high praise from their clients.

Being designated with PLATINUM Earmarked status places MickeyTravels in exclusive company.  In 2015, only a dozen travel agencies in the world earned PLATINUM level status with Disney, making this a very elite group within the travel industry.

“I’m humbled, grateful, and proud all at the same time,” said Elyssa Antonelle, Owner and Founder of MickeyTravels.  “This is such an outstanding accomplishment by our entire team, and I am so excited to share it with them.  From day one, we built MickeyTravels by emphasizing certain core values and beliefs.  These guiding principles set the framework for who we are, what we do, and how we treat our clients and each other,” Antonelle continued.

“Operating with integrity, transparency, and commitment are key factors to our success,” Antonelle explained.  “Because of this, our clients know that when they contact MickeyTravels to book their Disney vacation, they’re in the best hands possible when working with any of our amazing agents,” said Antonelle.

MickeyTravels is proud to be a “Disney-only” agency and specializes in planning magical Disney vacations to Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, Adventures by Disney, and Aulani.  “Because our sole focus is booking Disney vacations, our agents dedicate 100% of their time on the various Disney destinations.  Not 98% or 99%, but 100%.  We hear over and over how important this is to our clients,” Antonelle explained.

“I truly believe this unique Disney-only specialty, combined with each individual travel agent’s unbridled passion for Disney, makes our agents the most knowledgeable and best equipped in the Disney travel industry.  I am so proud of them,” Antonelle continued.

Goofy’s Kitchen Character Dining

June 4, 2014

Our family loves character meals so on a recent trip to Disneyland, I made a reservation for Goofy’s Kitchen. This meal serves breakfast and dinner and is located inside the Disneyland Hotel. The hotel is in walking distance from the parks, but it’s a further walk than meals inside the parks, of course, so you may want to factor that in. It would be perfect for an arrival evening or departing morning if you don’t have park passes and want to start or leave with a little extra magic!

dining with Disney characters

The food at the meal was delicious! We choose dinner, but we passed by during breakfast the food looked great then, too! There were many hot items including fish, chicken, a carving station, plenty of sides, pasta, pizza, and there was a great salad bar with many options. There was a section for the kiddos, though I admit to getting a bit of mac and cheese for myself! The desserts were delicious! My only disappointment was that I didn’t have a large enough appetite to try them all!

But, the real draw for this meal is the great character interaction! Unlike Disney World meals where the chosen characters for a meal are all from the same “group” (Mickey and friends, Playhouse Disney characters, Princesses, etc.), the characters here came from several different movies and stories! We saw Minnie, Chip, Dale, Peter Pan, Aladdin, Pluto, and, of course, Goofy! Characters may vary, but these seem to be the norm. The characters actually came around twice each during our meal, but that was likely because we had an early meal and the restaurant wasn’t very full yet. The character interaction was so perfect and the restaurant was lively and fun! We will definitely choose Goofy’s Kitchen again next time we go to Disneyland!

“Welcome to Disneyland” Tour

April 28, 2014

Are you headed for your first visit to Disneyland? Have you been a time or two but don’t feel quite like you have the lay of the land? If you are relatively new to Disneyland and would like a basic overview of both parks, then this tour is for you! I recently took this tour and enjoyed myself a lot!

Pirates of the Caribbean

The “Welcome to Disneyland Tour” is a guided walking tour that gives you an overview of both Disneyland Park and California Adventure. The tour guide shows you around the various lands and sections of the parks while giving tidbits of history and information along the way. The guide points out many of the most popular attractions and gives details about the nighttime shows and the parades.

fastpass

You also get an opportunity to visit one attraction per park. This varies, but on the tour we took, the attractions were Pirates of the Caribbean and Muppets 4-D, both which were fun and we entered with no wait.

The tour guide shows participants how to use a fastpass machine and they are able to make fastpasses for the World of Color and also another attraction along the way. Later participants are given two more fastpasses to be used later that day. The attractions these are for can vary, but ours were for Soarin’ and Star Tours. We also received a priority seating for either the Aladdin show or Mickey’s Magical Map, both which were great shows! The guide also offers to make a dinner reservation for you if you are interested in that.

book a trip to Disneyland

This isn’t an in depth tour, but is a great option for learning about the parks and little about their history. We felt this tour was worth it and would be best for your first day or early in your trip.

Tours are available Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays at 10:30 am until about 1:00 pm with a capacity of 20 people per tour. Reservations can be made by calling (714) 781-8687 up to 30 days in advance. The cost is $25 per person or $20 if you are an Annual Passholder, DVC member, AAA member, or Disney Visa cardholder.
